Rescue Ranch puppies are raised through our puppy foster program. They will have met adults, children, often other dogs, maybe cats. 16-week or older puppies will have taken part in our "Reading to Rescue Pups" program and attended many events. When they are at least 8 weeks old, puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian.  Before going home, all puppies will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. All p uppies are also microchipped and registered with  911PetChip . We require spay/neutering of puppies at 6-8 months old (or the appropriate age for giant breeds)  by our veterinarian. The procedure is covered by the adoption fee. Alternatively, adopters can choose to have the procedure done by their own vet (proof required),  and a portion of the cost will be refunded.    All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.  The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300 (unless a reduced fee applies )  APPLY NOW       October 27, 2026, 9:12 pm

Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Please read this post in its entirety. Please acknowledge that you have. Your response serves as your preliminary application. Please provide the requested information. I cannot stress that enough. I need more than "I want a dog, live in a house, and will love him/her". Meet Dr. Scruffin Muffin, an approximately 2-year-old wire-haired terrier, perhaps a doxy mix weighing in at 13.5 pounds. This delightful lad will win your heart in a minute. When he first arrived to foster, he was nervous; he had to be carried here and there. Within 2 days, he was the life of the party with great bedside manners. He loves to play with his foster mates, toys, rides great in a car, and wants to be part of the family in all things fun. He has great potty manners, is not destructive- just an all-around neutral boy. Be aware, he can climb a baby gate like a monkey! He absolutely needs a secure fenced yard. Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, fenced yard, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you, the better. What can this companion expect from you, and what do you expect from him? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. Please prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response, as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding—Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed mix.
