Story
If you love dogs with a big heart, a total snuggle bug, one who longs to be your lap dog and best friend, but has a small frame and little legs to match… well look no further because Tilly Millie was made for you! Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she is absolutely adorable. So get ready for your phone to be overrun with Tilly Millie content because that’s exactly what is going to happen the second you bring her home. Watch her video and fall in love: https://youtu.be/gLH54EBQyKA?si=RBlWnUyPIdQQW1sh Tilly Millie is a Dachshund mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs about 16 lbs. She’s a little girl and the perfect size for lap snuggles. Now let’s talk about how unique her color markings are. A perfect blend of all the colors you could be drawn to. With markings like that, she may even has a little Blue Heeler mixed in there somewhere. Regardless of what makes her this unique, it suits her well and just makes her that much more special. Till is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Tilly can be a bit shy at first when meeting new people or stepping into new environments and may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she’s all about affection and spoiling you with her gentle love. She truly shines as a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to her person, soaking in love and giving it right back. Her energy level is beautifully balanced. Not too busy and not too sleepy. Just the right amount of energy, the kind of pup who fits perfectly into your routine. She enjoys getting out for walks (and walks nicely on a leash!) but is just as content relaxing at home, snuggled up next to you on the couch binge-watching your favorite show or movie. She’s dog-friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced her to. She has met dogs her size and smaller and has also been around dogs twice her size! No matter the size, Tilly has shown to be a polite, gentle lady when she meets a dog on leash and shows that same level of gentleness when meeting dogs off leash. She isn’t a super playful girl with other dogs, she prefers calm companionship over rough-and-tumble play. She will do best in a home with a doggy pal that has the same cool, calm, collected vibes like herself. If you don't have other dogs, that's fine too! She does not need the company of another dog to help her open up or to satisfy her energy needs. Tilly is naturally a calm girly and will need time to adjust in her new surrounds with or without a doggy friend. She also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. Not only did Tilly do well with our house cat Biggie, but she is also fostered in a home with cats as well and does great with them. Tilly has the kind of easygoing personality that allows her to thrive in many living situations. Her well-balanced energy level and polite leash manners make her a great neighbor-friendly companion. She would also be perfectly happy in a suburban home with a backyard, where she could enjoy sniffing around, sunbathing, and lounging after her walks. While she’d appreciate outdoor access, she doesn’t rely on a yard to be fulfilled; her happiness comes from companionship, not square footage. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who bonds deeply, loves cuddles, and brings a steady, comforting presence into your life, Tilly may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. We are willing to test Tilly Millie with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Hi! My name is Duchess. I was found abandoned, along with my brother, and taken to a high kill shelter in Fresno, CA. I am safe now with my rescue in Oregon. I’m estimated to be 8 weeks old and I weigh approximately 5lbs. I’m up to date on my puppy vaccines and have been microchipped. I am a super sweet little girl. I am playful, gentle and love everyone. I’m told I have a cute, quirky little personality too. I love my toys and I also love being held by my human. I’m cuddly and also playful. I’m an outgoing pup! I am doing really well on my crate training, along with learning to use my potty pads for potty. I sleep good through the night and adjust well to a schedule. I’m very treat motivated so I’m said to be easy to train. I get along really good with cats and other dogs. If you are interested in adopting me, please go directly to my rescues website at savingonepawatatimerescue.org to complete my adoption application. I look forward to meeting you! Love, Duchess

Story
Hi there, my name is Cody, and I’m a 12-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix weighing about 13 pounds. I may be a senior gentleman, but I’ve still got plenty of personality and a lot of love to give the right person. I spend most of my day relaxing inside the house where I can wander around freely and keep an eye on things. I sleep on my own cozy bed in my human’s bedroom. I’m house trained, leash trained, and I walk nicely on a loose leash—though I might bark or lunge a little when I see new people or dogs. Once I get to know someone, I warm up just fine. I just prefer to take introductions at my own pace. My favorite thing in the whole world is going for walks. I get excited to explore and sniff around the neighborhood. After a good walk, I’m happy to come home, nap, and enjoy a calm, peaceful day. I also enjoy spending time near my person—I’m a loyal little companion. Because I’m getting older, I’ve learned that I really prefer peace and quiet. Living with young children has been stressful for me, and I’ve started giving warning growls when I feel overwhelmed. My family loves me very much and wants what’s best for everyone, so they’re helping me find a child-free home where I can feel relaxed and safe. I do best with people who understand that I need a little space around my food and time to get comfortable with strangers. I’m friendly or politely aloof with other dogs, but I do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. My perfect home would be quiet, calm, and child-free, with someone who enjoys daily walks and doesn’t mind a loyal little shadow nearby. If you’re looking for a sweet senior who appreciates the simple things—walks, naps, and companionship—I might just be your guy.

Story
Floyd is a four-year-old sweetheart who might be a Dachshund–Chihuahua mix—no one knows for sure, but we do know he’s 100% love. With his adorable floppy “Chihuahua-style” ears and his gentle, happy demeanor, he wins hearts everywhere he goes. This affectionate little guy is full of kisses, cuddles, and charm. He loves hopping onto the couch, rolling over for belly rubs, and staying close to his people. In his foster home, Floyd lives with both small and large dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone—he’s even polite enough to share food with his canine friends. Floyd is potty trained, crate trained, and ready to fit perfectly into a new home. Whether you’re a family looking for a friendly companion or a single person wanting a devoted best friend, Floyd is the kind of dog who will bring joy, affection, and loyalty every day. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion to brighten your life, Floyd is waiting to meet you. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
