🤍🐾 Hi there! My name is Butters! 🐾🤍I'm a handsome 5-year-old American Foxhound weighing about 55 pounds, and if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I have a heart overflowing with love. Life didn't start out easy for me. A few years ago, I was found in a sugarcane field, starving, covered in fleas and mange, and desperately trying to survive by drinking from a muddy ditch. No one knows exactly what happened before then, but it's clear that life had been pretty hard on me. Thankfully, some incredibly kind people refused to look the other way and gave me the second chance I so desperately needed. Today, I'm healthy, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find the forever family I've always deserved. Despite everything I've been through, I absolutely adore people. I'm a sweet, gentle soul who loves attention and enjoys being close to my humans. Whether we're relaxing together, taking a walk, or simply spending time in the same room, I'm happiest when I'm part of the family. 🥰I do wonderfully with children and have a calm, loving nature that makes me an easy companion to be around. I have so much gratitude for every bit of kindness shown to me, and I give that love right back tenfold. Because of my past experiences, I would do best as the only dog in the home or with very careful introductions and management around other dogs. What I really want is a safe, predictable home where I can relax, feel secure, and enjoy all the comforts of being a beloved family member. The good news is that I'm currently safe in a no-kill shelter, so I'm not in danger. But shelter life isn't the same as having a family of my own. What I dream about is a cozy home, a soft bed, plenty of affection, and someone who will love me for the wonderful dog I've become. 🏡💕I've survived some difficult chapters, but I know my best chapter is still ahead of me. Maybe it's with you. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a gentle spirit and a heart full of gratitude, I'd love the chance to meet you.📞 Call 479-394-5682 to learn more about me. I can't wait to find my forever family.****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
Hi… we’re Peanut & Butters 🤍🐾🐾 Yes, there are two of us—and we come as a package deal, because we’ve been side by side through everything life has thrown our way. A couple of years ago, we were found in a sugarcane field, starving, covered in fleas and mange, and just trying to survive by drinking from a muddy ditch. No one knows exactly what we went through before that, but we do know it left us a little scared of the world—especially other dogs. But even then, we had each other. 💕Peanut had it especially hard. She was so sick with heartworms that she almost didn’t make it, and she still carries tiny pellets in her chest from being shot… so loud noises like thunder and fireworks can be really scary for her. Butters has always been her protector, her safe place, her constant comfort. He never leaves her side, and she leans on him when she needs reassurance. Watching us together, you’ll quickly see—we’re not just friends, we’re family. 🐶❤️🐶The kind humans who rescued us refused to give up, and because of them, we’re now healthy, heartworm-free, fixed, chipped, and finally know what it feels like to be loved. And oh, do we love back! We are incredibly sweet, gentle souls with the softest mouths and the biggest hearts. We adore people, do wonderful with kids, and are happiest when we’re close to our humans—whether that’s soaking up attention or just quietly being near you. 🥰We’re both around 5 years old—Butters is a 55 lb American Foxhound, and Peanut is a 41 lb Jack Russell/Beagle mix—and while we may look different, we fit together perfectly. The only thing we ask is for a home without other dogs, where we can feel safe and relaxed. We don’t want trouble—we just don’t always know how to trust after everything we’ve been through. The good news? We’re safe now with a no-kill shelter, so we finally have time on our side. 🎉 But what we really want—the thing we’ve never truly had—is a forever home. A calm, loving place where we can stay together, feel secure, and spend the rest of our lives being the loyal, loving companions we were always meant to be. 🏡🤍If you open your heart to us, you’re not just adopting dogs—you’re giving two survivors the happy ending they’ve been waiting for. And we promise, we’ll fill your life with more love than you ever imagined. 💕🐾****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Story
🐾🤎 Hi there! My name is Brooke! 🤎🐾I'm a beautiful Hound/German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a joyful spirit that brightens every room I enter. At about 2 years old and 60 pounds, I'm the perfect combination of affectionate, adventurous, and loyal—the kind of companion who's always ready to be by your side. Life hasn't always been easy for me. There were times when food was hard to come by, and because of that, I can be protective of my meals and special treats. To keep everyone safe, happy, and friends, I'll need to be fed separately from other pets in the home. It's an easy management step that helps me feel secure and comfortable. ❤️Despite my rough start, I absolutely love people and have so much affection to give. I'm the kind of girl who enjoys being close to my humans, whether we're curled up on the couch, relaxing after a long day, or heading out for a new adventure. Belly rubs, ear scratches, tasty treats, and quality time with my favorite people are some of my favorite things in life. 🥰I'm wonderfully social with other dogs, though I do have a bit of an alpha personality. I generally prefer male canine companions and would likely do best as the only female in the household, though I may get along with a smaller, submissive female with proper introductions. I enjoy having dog friends, but I'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only princess. 👑🐕One thing you should know about me—I love to travel! 🚗 Whether it's a quick trip to town, a weekend getaway, or an outdoor adventure, I'm always excited to hop in the car and see where we're headed next. I ride well and enjoy being included in whatever my family is doing. I'm also a fantastic walking buddy. I walk nicely on a leash and love long walks, hikes, and even a good run. I can pull a little when I get excited, but I'm highly intelligent and eager to learn. With consistency, patience, and a few yummy treats, I'd be happy to polish up my leash manners even more. When it's time to play, I'm all in! I love romping around the yard, exploring new places, and enjoying life to the fullest. But don't worry—I have a soft side too. After a day of fun, I'm more than happy to snuggle up close and soak up all the love and attention you're willing to give. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who's equally happy exploring the world or cuddling on the couch, I might just be the perfect girl for you. 💕📞 Call 479-394-5682 to learn more about me.
