Story
Meet Scar! Scar is a sweet boy looking for a patient and understanding home where he can feel safe, loved, and secure. Scar was returned to the shelter because he struggles with anxiety when left alone. He does not enjoy being crated and has previously tried to escape, so he would do best with a family who can help him feel comfortable and confident when he is by himself. The good news? Scar is house-trained! When he needs to go outside, he may gently nudge the door handle or climb up beside you to let you know it’s time for a potty break. Scar LOVES his squeaky toys and enjoys chewing on toys. When left alone, he may also chew on clothing or household items, so he will need plenty of appropriate toys and a home prepared to help him learn good habits. At the end of the day, Scar’s favorite place is right on the couch where he can relax and catch some ZZZs. He knows “sit” and “no,” and he is afraid of cars, so he will need a little extra patience and encouragement when out and about.Scar does not enjoy having his paws or nails handled, so this is something his new family will need to work on slowly and positively.Scar may have a few quirks, but he has a lot of love to give. He is looking for someone who understands that sometimes the sweetest dogs just need a little extra patience, consistency, and reassurance to help them feel safe.Scar’s perfect home: A patient family, lots of love, plenty of squeaky toys, a comfy couch, and someone willing to help him build confidence when he’s alone.
