Skylar Jo

Dalmatian Great Pyrenees

Female, Adult
Springfield, IL
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Skylar is a total people dog. If you are looking for a loyal companion who wants to be with you - on the couch, in the room, in your general orbit- she's your girl. She is incredibly loving with her humans and thrives on affection, cuddles, and quality time. Skylar would do best as an only pet. While she has tolerated certain dogs she already knows, she is not a fan of cats or unfamiliar animals, and introductions with other dogs can be hit or miss. Because of that, we believe she would truly shine in a home where she can be the center of attention (and honestly, she would be very happy about that). She is calm, affectionate, and deeply bonded to her people; one of those dogs who makes a house feel like home. Best fit: Adults or families without other pets Someone who values companionship and snuggle time A home where she can be loved generously and exclusively

Story
Blake is a bright, energetic girl with a sharp mind and a big heart. She’s very smart, highly trainable, and eager to engage with her people, especially when she has a job to do or a routine to follow. She has a lot of energy and will thrive in a home with room to run or with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can commit to daily walks (twice a day is ideal). Mental stimulation and structure go a long way with Blake, and she does especially well when her energy is put to good use. Blake is generally friendly with other dogs, though compatibility can depend on the dog and proper introductions. With her people, she is sweet, affectionate, and loyal. Best fit: Active individuals or families A home with space to run or a commitment to regular exercise Someone who enjoys training and engaging with a smart, energetic dog

Story
Name: Hayden Age: 2 years Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Size: 35 lbs Special Needs: Heartworm positive. Will need treatment. Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Meet Hayden, a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog with striking looks and a lively, loyal spirit. Found as a stray in Long Beach Mississippi he was brought to the Humane Society of South Mississippi. He’s smart, alert, and loves having a job to do — whether that’s exploring the outdoors, playing with purpose, or learning something new. He did seem a little reserved and shy at first, but with a little time and meeting new people he has become more comfortable with his surroundings and has opened up a bit. Hayden thrives on activity and engagement, making him a great match for an adopter who enjoys adventure and understands working-breed energy. He bonds closely with his people and brings both enthusiasm and devotion to the relationship. He does fine around other dogs. He is a little unsure at first but once he has a few minutes to warm up he starts to run around and play with the other dog. If you’re looking for a bright, athletic companion with personality and drive, Hayden is ready to put his heart to work for his forever family. Hayden is up to date on vaccines and prevention. He will be neutered upon adoption and even though he has tested positive for heartworms we have no doubt that with proper treatment he can live out the rest of his long life happy and healthy. Hayden's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN.
