Story
I have had Lilo since she was 8 weeks old. She is truly one of a kind. She is the sweetest lap dog you will ever meet. She smiles when you walk in the door and loves nothing more than to rot on the couch all day watching a movie. She loves going for walks or playing fetch outside. She is potty- and kennel-trained and will let you clip her nails as long as treats and love are included. She is 100% an indoor dog. She tends to be afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks and will curl up on your lap when she is afraid, but she won't whine in the kennel if she is in there instead. Lilo HAS some health issues, including pancreatitis (she just eats low-fat dog food), anxiety (she takes medicine from the vet, which is very affordable), and some hot spots. She is protective of her food with other animals and strangers, so she is fed in her kennel with doors locked. We are looking for a loving home with no other pets. She is great with children. Must be willing to meet in KC, MO.

When I first meet new people&#44 I tend to hang back a little. I watch&#44 I listen&#44 and I try to decide if youre someone I can trust. It takes me a bit of time&#44 but once I know Im safe&#44 I open up in the sweetest ways. If youre patient with me&#44 Ill show you how softly I lean in for affection&#44 how my tail does a little happy wiggle when I see you&#44 and how much love Ive been saving up just waiting for the right person.<br/><br/>Im hoping to find a home that understands that trust is something we build together - a quiet&#44 steady place where I can come out of my shell at my own pace. Id really prefer to be your one and only pet&#44 since other dogs make me a bit nervous and I shine brightest when I dont have to compete for attention. If you have a heart big enough to love a girl whos still learning how to be brave&#44 I promise Ill meet you with all the sweetness I have. Maybe youre the person Ive been waiting for.
