Story
Meet Lilith, the proud (and exhausted, lol!) momma to the 9 puppies in the Rise n' Shine Litter! This sweet and sensitive girl is looking forward to life after puppies- she's a total snugglebug who deserves to be the center of attention. 💗 Lilith can be shy at first, but once she warms up, you'll find that she has a playful and very silly side to her! No need to crate this girl- she is nondestrucive, potty trained, and is happy to lay around chewing on a dog bone to pass the time. She doesn't bark much and she is a perfect friend to other dogs and cats alike. Lilith is an all around terrific girl! She is approximately 55 pounds and we believe her to be a Shepherd mix- look at those adorable ears! Lilith is spayed, up to date on her preventatives and vaccines, and microchipped. She is being fostered in the Greater St Louis area. Her adoption fee is $325. If you are looking to add a calm and funny dog into your life, look no further and apply for Lilith today! 😀

These pups are in Saint Louis, Missouri too!

Story
Good day! I'm Tiara! My sister and I were adopted together when we were little, but somehow we found ourselves back out in the world and ended up as strays. I’m a mix of Catahoula Leopard Dog and German Shepherd — so I’ve got both smarts and style! I’m a sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs, and I’ve even been around chickens, turkeys, and goats with no trouble at all. I’d love a home where I can stretch my legs, run, play, and go on all sorts of adventures with my people. I'm super smart, a quick learner and I respond well to training. I just graduated a 7 week obidence training course. I'm also housebroken & I've lived in a home before and know the ropes. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving friend who’s ready to make every day brighter, I think I might be the one for you! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1119139##

Story
O’Malley is believed to be closer to 6 months old and is a Pointer mix. O’Malley had a very hard life before coming to Needy Paws. He was a bit shy and very underweight. After he put on weight he was neutered and micro chipped. Now he’s loving life like no other. He is a very happy boy, loves everyone and everything. He excitedly jumps for joy when he sees you. We are working very hard on the jumping. And he likes to hold onto you because he doesn’t ever want to lose you. We are also working on that. He likes to hold your hand, shirt or pants leg. He is potty trained and will use a potty pad if needed. He is kennel trained but doesn’t like to be in it if no one is around. He will shred anything in it, if left alone for long. So, he would do better in a home were someone is home with him. Since he likes to jump, he’d be better in a home with teenagers rather than little kids. He is cat friendly but will chase if they run. He’s dog friendly. He doesn’t like car rides. They make him nervous and he needs a belly band on for rides.  He sleeps in bed with his foster mom and 3 foster siblings and one cat. He walks well on a leash. He knows sit and is learning hand signal to sit and calm down.  O’Malley will be a great dog for someone who will keep working with him on his obedience. If you are interested, complete the   Adoption Application   on our website at   www.NeedyPaws.org   and we will contact you.   Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. O'Malley's adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Jamal is a 1.5-year-old English Spaniel mix with a heart as big as his long, lanky legs. This handsome pup is the total package: sweet, smart, and ready to be your loyal companion. He recently graduated from the Puppies for Parole program, where he spent three months learning all his basic commands—so he's not only housebroken and crate trained, but also eager to please and well-mannered.  Jamal absolutely adores people and other dogs. He’s super social, playful, and thrives in an environment where he can romp with doggie friends and soak up all the affection from his humans. While he’s got plenty of puppy energy to burn outside during playtime, he’s calm and relaxed indoors, making him the perfect mix of fun and chill. Jamal would do best in a home with a large fenced in yard.  He is an active boy and loves to run and play fetch, his favorite game. Jamal, would do best in a home with no cats.  He will chase them, so it's best he lives in a cat free home to avoid any injury to them. He would also be best in a home with older children as he can accidently and unintentionally knock the little ones down. Goofy, kind-hearted, and full of love, Jamal would be a fantastic addition to any home looking for a friendly, well-trained, and lovable companion. Come meet Jamal—he’s ready to steal your heart! Jamal has recently graduated from the 12 Week Puppies for Parole training program offered through the Mo Department of Corrections.  While in training he was taught basic obedience and socialization skills.  He has learned various commands such as sit, stay, paw, heel, etc … and has acquired his good canine citizen honor.
