Story
Oliver is a 3 year old, 60 lb neutered male mix of Dalmatian and Pit Bull! He is house trained, crate trained, vaccinated and microchipped. Owner had to surrender him back to our shelter because she was moving soon to an apartment that would not allow dogs unfortunately. The lady was very sad to surrender him. This picture was when he was in her yard! Owner said he is Good with all dogs and kids once he adjusts briefly in a new situation! He is good with all people at the rescue currently! He deserves a loving home! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Oliver please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. https://rescuepetsservingvets.org ##2693485##

Story
MEET TUX — NORTH JERSEY Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue has stepped up to help Tux’s owner carefully screen potential adopters and find the best possible next home for this very special boy. Tux is a handsome two-year-old Dalmatian/Llewellin Setter mix weighing approximately 45–50 pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated, house-trained and crate-trained. Tux’s story began when he and his six siblings were found emaciated and being sold by a homeless individual in a Jersey City park. His owner stepped in, helped all seven puppies recover, found appropriate homes for the others and kept Tux. Because Tux did not originate from a breeder, shelter or rescue, there is no organization for his owner to return him to. Fast-forward two years, and significant changes in his owner’s work schedule, professional responsibilities and travel requirements have led him to explore whether another environment could better meet Tux’s long-term needs. This is not an emergency placement, and Tux will not be surrendered to a shelter. He remains safe and loved in his current home while we search for an exceptional match. If that home is not found, Tux will remain with his owner. Tux is affectionate, playful, curious and extremely devoted to his person. He loves following his owner around the house, playing fetch, visiting the dog run, enjoying short bursts of zoomies and settling in for plenty of couch time. Although he enjoys activity, he is not continuously high-energy. He often sleeps for long stretches and is generally calm and relaxed indoors. Tux knows sit, place, paw, kiss, lay down, come and bedtime. He waits for permission before eating and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement using kibble or treats. Continued positive-reinforcement training will help him become an even more confident, well-rounded dog. He can remain home alone and will generally settle on the bed and sleep. His current routine includes bathroom breaks approximately every four hours. He is crate-trained, although he currently sleeps in his own bed at the foot of his owner’s bed—and politely waits to be invited up in the morning. Tux generally enjoys other dogs and likes playing with them. No aggression toward people, children or other dogs has been observed. Any resident dog will require a proper introduction and compatibility meeting. Tux has also been around children, but because he is a strong, enthusiastic 45–50-pound dog who may jump up when excited, interactions with children should be appropriately supervised. The most important thing to understand about Tux is that he is sensitive to loud, fast-moving and unpredictable urban environments. Large trucks, motorcycles, heavy traffic and busy roads can frighten him. His response is to move away, tuck his tail or seek safety near his person—not to bark, lunge or confront the trigger. In busy public places, he may stay close or position himself beneath a chair or table until he feels secure. We believe Tux would thrive in a quieter residential or suburban setting with a patient person or family who will provide consistency, reassurance, exercise and continued training. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, although the overall quality and suitability of the home will be the most important consideration. Tux is located in the Jersey City/Hoboken area of New Jersey. Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue will assist his owner in screening applicants, checking references and arranging appropriate introductions.   https://chboxerrescue.com/adopt/ September 13, 2026, 2:55 pm
