Story
Petunia has to be one of the happiest dogs we've ever seen! And based on what she has been through in her short little life, it's a miracle. When she came to us, she was skin and bones, at least 15 lbs underweight, had all kinds of intestinal worms and nasal worms (ew!) and, sadly, is also heartworm positive. It took her over a month to gain weight and stabilize enough so that we could spay her. She loves running around in the yard and then is ready to snuggle up after getting her energy out. She’s wonderful with other dogs and is learning that tiny humans, while loud and unpredictable, often drop food which is pretty awesome. She is house trained and quiet in a crate, so snatch this girl up fast! **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization.  We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower.  If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. ##1915443##

Story
Meet Lady Rover & her adorable babies! This sweet momma was found heavily pregnant in the middle of rural SC. Thankfully she was quickly scooped up and brought into the shelter where she received some medical care and was lucky enough to find a foster for the next few weeks so she could relax and have her babies in peace! Momma had 6 beautiful baby girls- yes all girls! ( We joke it is the year of the girl) For the next six weeks she was lucky to get to raise her babies in a quiet enviornment and show them what being puppies is all about. Sadly, her foster had to travel and this little family made their way back into the shelter, which is no place for babies with no immune system. We took one meet with momma & she won us over faster than we could blink. Lady Rover is SO sweet and wants nothing more than to cuddle into someone's lap. This girl just wants love and is so gentle and sweet when she asks for it. Lady rover is two weeks away from being ready to head into her forever home and we would LOVE to have her set up and ready to go when it is her time to shine! Lady Rover is guessed to be some type of pointer mix but is fully grown at 40 pounds so she is pretty dainty and the perfect size. She is GREAT with other dogs and cats and loves everyone she meets, big and small. Her little girls will be ready to head into their homes right around Valentine's Day!
