Loyal. Sensitive. Handsome. Not an actual Fire Marshal despite the name, so we just call him Marshal. Let me introduce you to Marshall, his good looks are what got you here so you know, he is a stunning Dalmatian mix with those classic, all-American good looks. Before you read too far, I want you to know, he is not the “instant best friend” type. Personally I am okay with that but that’s not true for everyone. If you know you like a dog that fast-tracks you to their sun, moon, and stars, we have those but Marshal doesn’t fall into that category. His foster shared that he is house-trained, crate-trained, and lives peacefully with three other dogs in his foster home. He enjoys calm canine company and, once comfortable, will play and hang out with his dog friends. Another area he prefers to take it slow. Quick touch on his “numbers” Marshal is estimated to be 4 years old and he weighs 46 lbs. With breed and age we cannot offer 100% guarantee given he is a rescue. He’s great in the car, making him a perfect co-pilot for weekend getaways or drive-thru snack runs. Marshall prefers calm, predictable environments and would do best in a home (no apartments) with someone who understands the unique sensitivities of Dalmatians. Their intelligence, alertness, and sometimes quirky behavior mean they need a person who “gets” them — and Marshall is no exception. A peaceful home and a patient adopter are a must. He did good hanging out with a dog-savvy 11 year old, when his 4 year old brother joined, Marshal was a little uncertain. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. Meet Old Man Rupert – Your Loyal Companion   Dalmatians have a long history of loyalty and service, famously known for their role as firehouse mascots and companions to horse-drawn fire engines. While Old Man Rupert may not be racing alongside fire wagons these days, he’s still got plenty of heart and devotion to give. This distinguished gentleman may have once been a high-energy pup, but in his golden years, he’s embraced the art of relaxation. Rupert still enjoys a daily stroll, taking his time to sniff every interesting scent along the way—exercise and mental stimulation all in one! His back legs are a little wobbly, so you won’t catch him jumping on furniture or people, but he’s perfectly content with a soft bed and good company. Rupert is housebroken and a well-mannered guy who won’t cause any trouble when left alone. Like many Dalmatians, he is mostly deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from being a loving, social pup. Meet Tiger! This 4 month old cutie weighs about 41 pounds. We think he might be a Catahoula / Labrador Retriever mix, but as a proud rescue, their breed blend is a mystery – making them 100% unique and 100% loveable! While in our care, this sweet pup is soaking up all the snuggles, making new friends, and learning how to be the best little sidekick. Tiger is currently fostered in a loving foster home where he loves to play and take lots of naps. He is being fostered in a home with other dogs. If you have always dreamed of owning a tiger, TIGER is your boy! He has that beautiful tiger-esque coat but none of the ferocity. Tiger is the sweetest most gentle boy.
