Story
"Hope is a funny and friendly girl who is on the hunt for a loving retirement home. This smart senior is affectionate and loves to lounge on the couch - can you picture her curled up next to you? She would be the perfect addition to a home where she can spend her golden years being petted and adored. Due to her age and temperament, Hope is best suited to a home without dogs or cats, as she prefers to be the center of attention. She's a quirky girl who warms up quickly and will be your best friend in no time. This little cutie was found tied to a pole on a street corner in Los Angeles on Figueroa covered in hundreds of ticks. She needed a complete dental and to have teeth pulled when we took her to the vet for the works. She is good with other dogs but will not share her food at alll. If you're looking for a sweet and funny companion, Hope is the one for you! (Bonus points if you're a senior yourself, as she loves the company of people her own age)" she will use the bathroom outside and has perfect aim to pee on the potty pads but doesn't poop on them. If you would like to give her a home please text 714-882-9865 and complete the application online at www.rescuemepets.com/forms

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ACE….and he's a special guy!  This 15 lb, 3.5 yr old, tan/golden, Lhasa Apso X, came from the Carson Shelter, after another rescue pulled his brother and left him behind.  Poor guy has been through hell, as this was his second abandonment after his thoughtless owners dumped them both in the shelter “because they were moving!!”  This broke our hearts.  I jumped into my car, pulled him out and immediately took him to the groomer and bathed him myself!  Once groomed, we came home and he felt soooo much better! Ace is a big cuddler and kisser with his peeps, once he has proven he likes you.  Recently, we have learned that he doesn't seem to like other dogs and will lunge with most until he gets to know them.  He is BFFs with Jett, but goes after many of our other rescues.  He has a ton of energy and likes to jump up on you, so we think he’d be best in a home without young kids or seniors, especially with his need for training.  We have found he is partial to female dogs and loves to play but seems to be challenged by male dogs.  He does not like being left alone, so he might be best with a female -- perhaps a bit bigger than he is -- one who is submissive and won't challenge him.  OR as your companion where he is rarely left alone.  We know nobody is home 24/7!  He's fine with some dogs (unless he's in a mood), but when you are around he doesn’t like them usurping his glory!  He wants all your love!!   He'd be happy as your one and only if you have time to give him oodles and oodles of love and attention.   This boy is a great eater and isn't fussy.  He is very playful with his two female roomies and with his foster mom.  He is pretty quiet, even when left alone he settles down.  Ace would be a fantastic companion for a runner, hiker, active person who loves to enjoy the outdoors.  He walks extremely well on a leash and does his business shortly after the walk begins!  That being said, if he can't get out and has to go...he will use a pp pad.  So far, we haven't seen him lift his leg, but no guarantees at your house!  While he isn't a lap dog, he would love nothing better to cuddle up to you when the day is done and fall asleep in your arms!  Does ACE sound like your kind of guy? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION THIS IS ROCKO…and rock’n’roll Rocky is a superstar!! This gorgeous, 17 lb, 2-3 yr old, tan/white Lhasa Apso is the real deal! Unfortunately, in the past he has landed in the wrong place and hasn’t yet found a family that had the time or appreciation to get this wonderful boy training or give him the attention he needs. He is still a puppy in an adult body! And STILL he is very loving, kissy, playful and happy! Rocko is a bit on the wild side — but nothing that some patience, time, training won’t solve. When you are walking him, he likes to run circles around you but we are working on “walk straight” and he responds. He is very smart and wants to please. He is not a biter; he is not aggressive with other dogs or a guarder. He is very demonstrative in showing you he wants to go for a run…or a hike. He ain’t no couch potato…until he has had a busy day playing, going to the park, going on walks and you tire him out. He wants to explore the world, meet and greet anyone on the street and say hello! The best home for Rocko would be one where there is a yard, so that he can exercise and play with you! Kids over 8 yrs old to play with him and a canine companion! His vocal manners are pretty good — we have not heard him bark, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t! AND if you take him out on a regular basis, he is pretty good doing his business outside and will use a pp pad if necessary! But, no guarantees at your house! Does Rocko sound like a pup you could “rock’n’roll with? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. JENNY--Help needed JENNY is in need of sponsorship in our sponsorship program to pay for the remainder of her extensive veterinary costs. We are raising funds for all of her diagnostic procedures--Xrays, Ultrasounds, CBC, Urinalysis--for her extensive dental work, and extraction and suturing of six very bad removed teeth, and for her bladder stone removal surgery, JENNY is a Maltipoo, a Maltese/Poodle cross. Jenny is 7 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. She is a cream and white color, and she is also hypoallergenic! JENNY is very intelligent and inquisitive. She is housetrained, sweet, gentle, playful, loving, affectionate, a lot of fun to be with, and not destructive. Story
BANDIT, recently groomed and clipped, is a long legged Lhasa Apso/Maltipoo, who is 7 years old, 17 pounds, and has been an only dog with the same family (who could not keep him), since puppyhood. Bandit does bite people. His main flaw is that he is overly loyal and protective, and will take a bite out of a stranger's foot or ankle if they suddenly come too close. Lhasas are a very ancient breed and were fierce little sentinel and guard dogs for the Dalai Llama and Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The 14th Dalai Llama sent them as gifts to the West, and they have been a favorite ever since. Bandit is neutered and vaccinated and we are searching for an understanding and patient new home where he can be the dedicated guardian he was meant to be. Story
Meet Hey, a one-year-old spayed female Poodle-Bichon mix with a soft cream coat and a heart ready to bloom. Weighing in at just 5kg, Hey was rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje and has come a long way since. Once fearful of people and unsure of human touch, she’s now blossoming with those who take the time to earn his trust. These days, she’ll happily take treats from your hand and even trot over to say hello once she feels comfortable. While she might run off when you try to pick her up, she doesn’t resist once he’s in your arms—she settles in calmly, making her a gentle cuddle buddy. She’s also wonderfully behaved for grooming and bath time. Hey is a total social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. She loves meeting new canine friends, no matter their size, and will often approach them with friendly tail wags and an invitation to play. Having another dog in the home would be a huge help in her adjustment to family life, especially since she’s never known life without doggy companionship. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but based on her easy-going nature, she may very well be able to live peacefully with feline friends too. With a moderate energy level, Hey enjoys the outdoors but knows how to relax and recharge afterwards. She’s currently learning how to walk on a leash—right now, she tends to freeze up when it’s clipped on, so she’ll need some patient guidance. She’s not possessive with food, whether it’s around people or other dogs, and is used to both indoor pee pad training and outdoor potty time. Because she’s never lived without other dogs around, she may experience some separation anxiety, and she does tend to bark a little when meeting unfamiliar people out of fear. But with love, time, and gentle encouragement, Hey has all the potential to grow into a confident and affectionate companion. All she needs is a patient family ready to cheer her on through this next chapter of her life. View more photos and videos on Facebook: Link to Post Does Hey sound like the right companion for you? Send in your application today here or through our website:adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston, etc) where we have flight volunteers. Story
Mr. Cloud is about 18 month old, and weights about 20lbs. He is extremely loving, playful and smart. Knows how to fetch, and sit without any proper training. He is also potty trained and leash trained and will walk with you like a champ. Purchased from a breeder as a puppy for $1,000. Saw the mom and dad in person and they are both Bichon Frise just like him. Full transparency. Just took him to the vet, he is healthy and blood work comes back normal but: 1. He does either have flees or have some allergies, which make him itch, but can be controlled with proper diet. Right now he is not itchy after receiving flee and allergy medicine. 2. He has separation anxiety, and will whimper loudly when you are away. 3. He is not neutered. (Rehome fee can be 100% refunded to you upon completion of neuter) The fluffy picture is him when he was 3 month old and have his furs brushed out. So he can look the part!

Adopting a Dandie Dinmont Terrier

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Dandie Dinmont Terrier - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Dandie Dinmont Terrier at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. The cost of adopting a Dandie is around $100 to $500, which covers the expenses of caring for the dog before adoption and often includes vet checks, vaccines, spaying or neutering, and sometimes microchipping.

In contrast, buying a Dandie Dinmont Terrier from a breeder can be prohibitively expensive. A Dandie Dinmont Terrier puppy from a reputable breeder typically costs between $1,500 and $3,000.

The easiest way to adopt a Dandie Dinmont Terrier is through a rescue that specializes in Dandie Dinmont Terriers. A great place to start is by creating a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the Dandie Dinmont Terriers available in your area.
