PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET ELIAS….who came to us matted to the bone and very underweight…but sweeter than pie! This 13.5 lb, charcoal gray, 5 yr old Lhasa/ShihTzu/Schnauzer/Loverboy can be anything you want him to be! It’s hard to see his dreadlocks, but Pic #4 is a fraction of what we cut off from his ears! Elias was a little fearful when he initially came out of the shelter, but once he knew he was safe, he blossomed in record time. His foster roommate was a little frisky (neither were neutered coming from the shelter) but Elias responded like a gentleman. Didn’t like it, but wasn’t aggressive with him! He is a wonderful companion, and he would prefer having company as opposed to being an only dog or left alone. He does not have separation anxiety, but since he is good with children (over 5 yrs) and people and dogs…he shouldn’t have to be! Plus, Elias loves to give kisses and show you how much he appreciates your love! Starting to play/chase after toys…and he gets happier every day! Great in the car so he could go with you anywhere! So far, his potty training has been great — he loves to do his business up against a tree or whatever is nearby! But of course, we never guarantee at your house! Elias would not be great for a senior home, as he is quite active and might be too much to handle. He loves his walks and meeting and greeting people…he came to us a mess and looks great now…could gain a few pounds and grow his hair back and you might have a designer dog!! We love him and so will you! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET EDDIE….an adorable, 8 yr, 19 lb, tan/white Lhasa Apso — with a heart of gold. Eddie’s journey began when he was adopted from a shelter at just one year old. Unfortunately, as time has ensued, Eddie’s growing family don’t feel they are the ideal fit for him now, and they want him to have the best home and life ever! He is too special to have anything less! They love him and are making this hard decision for his sake. They say he is potty trained (but we still never guarantee) and an absolute joy to be around. He’s the perfect companion, always eager to be your best friend, by your side. Eddie’s days are spent often found snoozing away…but don’t let his relaxed attitude fool you; he also loves going for walks and playing with his favorite toys! He is very social and gets along great with other dogs, adults and even kids over 8 yrs old. When it’s time to unwind (after a nice snooze!), Eddie prefers the comfort of the couch during the day and snuggles up in his owner’s bed at night. Yet, beneath his calm exterior lies a sensitive soul. Eddie struggles with separation anxiety and does not like to be left home alone. Loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms also cause some distress, sometimes resulting in accidents indoors. Despite his anxieties, Eddie is a sweetheart who adores spending time with his family. He’s happiest when surrounded by love and understanding. For Eddie, the perfect home would be one where someone is present most of the time, along with another friendly dog for companionship. If you are a caring canine parent who is looking for a loyal pupster -- your home might be the perfect one for Eddie! Love, attention and your time is what Eddie craves. Can you be his new best friend(s)? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
BANDIT, recently groomed and clipped, is a long legged Lhasa Apso, who is 6-7 years old, 17 pounds, and has been an only dog with the same family (who could not keep him), since puppyhood. Bandit's only flaw is that he is overly loyal and protective, and will take a nip out of a stranger's foot or ankle if they suddenly come too close. Lhasas are a very ancient breed and were fierce little sentinel and guard dogs for the Dalai Llama and Buddhist monasteries in Tibet. The 14th Dalai Llama sent them as gifts to the West, and they have been a favorite ever since. Bandit is neutered and vaccinated and eager to be welcomed into his new home where he can be the dedicated guardian he was meant to be. Story
Meet Bobby - The Gentle Senior Lhasa Apso. Bobby is approximately 15 years old and is currently in a foster home. His foster mom says he’s a real joy to have around. He adores his foster mom so much that he follows her around everywhere. Cuddles and belly rubs are his absolute favorite. He’s potty trained and has excellent leash manners, making him a great companion for a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. He’s not a marathon walker but he does enjoy the fresh air. He prefers a gentle pace. He’s not a big fan of being home alone for too long so he would do best with someone that’s home a lot We’re not sure how he is with kids or other dogs so a meet and greet is a must!If you’re searching for a seasoned companion to add warmth and joy to your home, reach out to our foster coordinator at vbasfosterinfo@gmail.com so we can meet and see if we can create a cozy retirement chapter together. A medical consult will be required prior to any adoption.
