Story
Buster is a 2yearold, 40pound sweetheart who is so ready to finally find the family he’s been waiting for. Dumped in a recycling area with his sister as a tiny puppy, his story could have taken a heartbreaking turn, but instead, he grew into a gentle, loving, quietly joyful boy with the softest heart. Every day he reminds us how resilient and special he truly is. He’s fully vetted, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and already house trained, making him more than ready for a smooth transition into his forever home. Buster is both dog and cat friendly, and he absolutely lights up when he has animal friends around him. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and at least one playful dog to help build his confidence and bring out his silly, happy side. Buster can take a little extra time to warm up to men, but with patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, he forms incredibly strong, loyal bonds. Once he trusts you, he is all in. He loves toys, enjoys exploring the yard, and has a playful spark that grows brighter every day. After he gets his energy out, he’s more than happy to settle in close for quiet cuddle time. He is smart, eager to learn, and has all the makings of a deeply devoted companion. Whoever gives him his chance will gain a loving, loyal, truly special best friend. Buster has been waiting so patiently for someone to see the beautiful soul he is.     If you are ready to welcome Buster into your heart and home furever, please apply at www.compassionkind.org/adopt ##2185900##

Story
Remi is new to our rescue and will be going into foster care where we will learn more about him. This is what we have from the shelter: Hey! The Dobe is a 14mo, neutered male named Remi who was surrendered following a minor bite in a new home after he mounted another dog, the new pet owner tried to pull him off by the collar and received one bite to the hand that was a Dunbar Level 3/punctured skin but less than depth of canine. They had had the dog for two days at this point. I reached out to prior owners for history and it turned out it had been the second time in a week he'd been rehomed, and the previous time was also due to a bite over a collar grab (did not break skin). I was able to get in contact with the original owner/breeder who rehomed him to that previous party less than a week prior and she provided some additional information; he's lived with other dogs successfully, he's potty trained, he likes to suckle his bed when he's stressed and will occasionally growl at people for approaching it while he's doing it but will let you take the bed, as she would habitually remove items that he was suckling on. Remi is from an accidental litter and while we've been back and forth for some time on the breeder reclaiming if no one will take him she's not in state and I haven't been able to get a timeline out of her even if we provide partial transport. At this point it's been a month, he's pretty stressed to be here, and she is going to have to rehome as soon as she gets him back anyway so if there's another avenue I'd love to explore it. I personally don't have issues handling him and think he'd be a fun project from someone comfortable with the behavior on record, but he's a little too complicated to be appropriate to adopt out directly from the shelter and doesn't meet criteria for any of the Dobe-specific rescues in the state due to the bite hx. He does have some collar sensitivities here and has lightly mouthed my hand for a collar grab but is A-OK for general point A to B on a slip lead or martingale, is rough/rowdy social in shelter playgroups (loves to talk) and while he'll alarm bark at the kennel front has been fine meeting people once he's out; sometimes a little withdrawn. Overall he's a young guy who's had a very confusing month and doesn't have a lot of life skills or experiences to go off of; he cares a lot about what you think and is very responsive to direction. No medical concerns, UTD.

Story
River needs a confident home who can help him continue to move forward and build his confidence. He is the product of backyard breeding, along with his brother, Rye. He loves other dogs and looks to them for guidance, a home with a fenced in yard and another dog would be great for him. Right now he is VERY scared and skittish and will require a family who is dedicated to helping him.

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Male Doberman seeking an experienced, structured home. He is an intelligent, high-drive dog who does best with routine, clear expectations, and confident handling. He mainly lives outdoors and enjoys sunbathing. He enjoys being near people, spending time outdoors, and benefits from regular physical and mental engagement. He has a strong bond with the leader of the home. Best suited for an adult home experienced with Dobermans or other working breeds. He requires consistent management and ongoing training. He may show protective behavior toward unfamiliar men and will bark at small animals. He does well with other dogs once properly introduced. Full disclosure: he has a prior bite incident involving an adult male (bite and release). He has not bitten women or children; however, due to size and history, he should not be left unsupervised with small children. Ideal adopter must be capable of safely handling a powerful breed and committed to structured leadership and continued training.
