Meet Zeus We are in love with Zeus! Zeus is a five-month-old Doberman mix. He was surrendered for basically being a puppy, a bundle of energy and enthusiasm. But in our experience, Zeus is not overwhelming at all. He is sweet and gentle, and playful, but also super mindful and he’s calmer than a lot of puppies we’ve known. Zeus is handsome with his rich dark brown coat, floppy ears and hazel-colored eyes that will melt your heart. By the look of his paws, he may grow to be a big boy. He’s all gangly with long limbs and puppy awkwardness right now – so cute! Zeus has a happy and hopeful demeanor. He likes other dogs and would probably do well with kids. He loves to play and run around. He’d probably enjoy another dog to play with. His chill and accepting behavior makes us think he’d do fine with cats, but we’ll test him for potential adopters. At five months old, he’s young enough to train to get along. Zeus is basically housetrained, but once in a home it will be important to gently reinforce good potty habits, as he occasionally will have accidents in his kennel. Zeus is such a good boy. He welcomes snuggles and pets. He will be a wonderful addition to a loving home. Please use the downloadable application found on our homepage. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Introducing Sweet Simone! This approximately 10 month old girl is oh so sweet and affectionate.  Simone is a happy, playful girl and like her sister Nadia has the cutest wigglebutt you have ever seen!  Simone and her sister Nadia were born to a stray Mom and were found living in an abandoned dilapidated house. They came to us scared and shy but have come a long way. Simone is still shy and cautious with strangers so she will need a little extra patience in the beginning. She is overall a well adjusted, delightful girl with a perfect temperament. She has a beautiful feminine face and athletic build. She weighs a healthy 50lbs.  She is a stunning girl!   Simone is up to date on all vaccines. Spayed,  heartworm negative and microchipped. Crate trained, we are working on leash training.  This precious girl is lovingly fostered in Rutledge GA.    ##1172345##
