Story
Red here, and do I have a story to tell, and it is not always happy ;( I was dumped at the pound after being shot in the back leg. I am an absolute doll, so none of my rescuers really understand how someone could do this to me... I am literally only 8 months old. So despite my ruff beginning, I am a survivor and I am THRIVING in the rescue! I love everyone, I am playful and silly and all goofy BIG puppy. So my back leg was broken when shot, and it has been healing. The rescue's vet has determined that my leg is healed to the point that even though it is kind of crooked with a bump at my hock, it wouldn't benefit me to have it rebroken to repair it. I use my leg and my only limitation would be that I cannot be a running dog- I can however be a playing dog, I can be a cuddling dog and I can be a goofy dog. I am a Doberman and will likely be 75-80# full grown. And my new family needs to know my breed :) I am ready for a wonderful family to adopt me! I love everyone and am great with other dogs and all people. So hurry up and adopt me!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hello! We had an accidental litter in our home on 12-22-2023 of half american doberman/american pit. We were able to find 5 out of the 8 pups a loving home, and these last 3 are left. We have Moose with the larger tan face markings, Lady with the front white paw, and Leo with the single white line on his chest. We have had numerous bouts of litter mate syndrome with these pups but have had zero incidents in the last month. But these guys and gal are ready for their OWN homes! Their own families and their own beds. They are all 100% potty trained, crate trained, use a doggy door, they come and sit on command, know their names, LOVE to cuddle and get all the loves, and are really truly GREAT dogs! It was never our intention to keep them this long but I was also not willing for them to go to just anyone. These are two powerful, smart, highly skilled breeds and if you are not familiar they will quickly outsmart you. Will require an experienced owner.

Story
This is Henry!  He is a Doberman Pinscher, born October 2020.  Henry is an amazing dog!  He is looking for a home with older kids - he loves boys and listens quite well to his current 10 year old bestie.  He would absolutely be someone's best friend!  He just needs someone who can work with him and help build his confidence so he can learn how to be calm.  Right now, he's living in an apartment and just doesn't have enough space to run and play.  He needs a fenced yard and he will let you know when he needs to go out for a potty break. Henry grew up with other dogs, but because of the space restraints - he barks at them sometimes.  Once he feels comfortable in a new place with room to spread out, this probably won't be an issue.  He seems to listen better to men, but lately has done well with a female and older girls.  Because of his size and energy level, kids should be older (age 10+).  He gets a little jumpy around little kids.  Don't let his size fool you, he still likes to cuddle and would love to be your lap dog!!!  If you love Dobermans, you will certainly fall in love with Henry!  Bonus points if you have Doberman experience.  :)  The suggested adoption donation for Henry is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2203730##

Story
Make way for Skye! Skye is a female Doberman (b. 8/2020) looking to find her home. She is housebroken and knows some commands. She is looking for a place where she will be the only pet.  She does not do well around other animals or kids.  She is protective, especially if strangers come to the door unannounced.  She is used to being kenneled if there are strangers or others around.  Skye needs a secure fenced yard with room for her to run and play. If you're looking for a loveable and well behaved girl, fill out an application for Skye today! The suggested adoption donation for Skye is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).
