Story
Baxter is a 3-year-old, unaltered male Doberman mix with a heart as big as his personality! This handsome goofball came to us as an owner surrender after a relationship split, and while his world may have changed, his joyful spirit certainly hasn’t. Baxter is a very happy boy who greets life (and everyone in it!) with pure excitement. When he gets especially thrilled to see you, he’ll break out his signature “happy dance”—bouncing up and down on his front paws in the cutest little celebration. It’s guaranteed to make you smile every time! He absolutely loves people and truly knows no stranger. Whether you’re a longtime friend or someone he just met, Baxter is ready to soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. He thrives on affection, enjoys playtime, and would love a home where he can be part of the action. Baxter seems to do well with other dogs, but we do require a meet and greet with any potential canine siblings to make sure it’s a perfect match. We’re not yet sure how he feels about cats, but we’d be happy to cat test him upon request. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion, Baxter might just be your perfect match. Come meet this happy boy and see his adorable dance in person!

Story
Milo is a 4.5 year old Doberman mix. We adopted him from a shelter about 3 years ago and he currently lives with 1 other dog and 2 cats. He does well with our lab, but loves to play so he needs a submissive dog that can take his energy. It’s preferable there aren't any other dogs just in case! He chases the cats often, so I would also suggest no cats. Milo has a resource guarding issue which concerns us with our baby starting to walk. He also has high energy, but that can be helped with CBD. He also needs a yard to run in - which is his favorite thing to do! Ideally, Milo can go to a home with no kids or cats and can be kept up to date with his training. Someone with experience with his breed is preferred due to how smart they are! He is a super loving and cuddly boy, we just don’t want him to make a mistake at the expense of the baby since she doesn’t understand boundaries.

******Please note, once you complete the initial screening, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Zephyr, also known as Zee, is an 8 year old neutered male Doberman Pinscher weighing in at 75lbs. He iscurrently being fostered in Houston, TX and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Zee is a sweet, affectionate boy who absolutely adores people of all ages. He has been wonderful with children, neighborhood kids, and even elderly family members, showing a gentle, intuitive nature as if he knows when to be extra careful. Though he can be shy at first, once he warms up his goofy personality shines through—he’ll hop like a bunny when he’s excited, soak up every bit of affection, and happily cuddle up next to you or sleep by your side at night. Zee loves outings with his humans too, whether it’s a car ride, a trip for ice cream, or hanging out with friends—he’s happiest when he’s included and getting attention. Zee has a moderate energy level and is an easy going guy. He enjoys playing tug, fetch (even if he doesn’t always bring the ball back!), and romping around the yard. He’s fully house trained, can be left alone with full run of the house without any issues, and is not destructive. Zee walks on a leash with a harness and is still working on pulling, especially when he spots squirrels, cats, or dogs, but he’s improving with consistency. He is happy to hang out with his bone if his humans are busy! Zee would thrive best as the only pet in the home. He does not do well with other dogs and has a high prey drive with cats, so a single-pet household is ideal. That said, he makes up for it by being incredibly loving, loyal, and people-focused. Some of his cutest quirks include chasing dragonflies like a Disney princess, stealing socks just for attention, and “goosing” you if he feels ignored—he clearly finds it hilarious. He is truly a gentle soul looking for a home where he can be someone’s one and only, and he will return that love tenfold. 🐾 If you are interested in adding Zephyr into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
