Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 6/29/18, and pictures updated 5/10/20 - Callan was surrendered on 4/11/18. An older woman contacted the Smith County, TX Shelter about her young dog. The officer who talked to her, called me to see if I could help, since the shelter cannot take owner surrenders. I had recently had some adoptions, so I told him that he caught me at a good time. He brought the young dog to me later that day, and I didn't get the dog's name from the home, so I named him Callan. I took Callan to the Gresham Veterinary Hospital on 4/13/18 to get vaccinated, he was listed as a Doberman mix, 1.5 years old, weighed 44.6 pounds, and was neutered by Dehart Veterinary Services on 4/14/18.  As of 5/10/20, he weighs 54 pounds. Callan is good with adults and children, loves to play with the other dogs, has a high pitch bark at times when he sees things like squirrels in the trees, is good on a leash, and crate trained.  He loves to be pet, and will put his head on my lap to get pet.  He requires a fenced yard, and is not an apartment dog.  He didn't like to be crated at night, but got better.  I eventually stopped putting him in a crate at night, since he does well outside at night. Callan's adoption fee is $85. Anyone interested in adopting him, please e-mail me at TMSGriffith@aol.com. March 17, 2026, 3:05 pm

Story
Sage's StorySage is the firstborn, and it shows in her confident, adventurous spirit. She’s curious about the world around her and loves exploring new things, whether it’s discovering a new toy, investigating her surroundings, or finding the perfect cozy spot for cuddles afterward. Sage carries herself with a natural confidence, but she’s also incredibly affectionate. Alongside her sister Juniper, she’s part of a snuggle-loving duo—always ready to give kisses, lean in for pets, and share her sweetness with anyone nearby. Her balance of bravery and tenderness makes her a truly special little girl.Like any puppy, Sage is still learning about the world around her. Raising a puppy—especially a growing giant breed—is incredibly rewarding, but it also takes patience, consistency, and commitment. There will be early mornings, training sessions, teething phases, and plenty of moments that test your resolve. Sage will thrive in a home that can provide structure, gentle guidance, and continued socialization to help her grow into a confident, loyal companion. Now they’re ready for the next chapter… one filled with couches to nap on, families to adore, and a lifetime of adventures. We’re looking for committed, loving homes that understand the needs of a growing giant breed—families ready for training, structure, and all the joy (and chaos!) that comes with puppyhood.Let’s not leave these last three behind. Their families are out there—we just need to find them. All donation options, adoption applications, and important links are now in one place:https://linktr.ee/SrgdrrIf donating, please note who or what your donation is for.For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. For an application to foster or adopt, please go to www.saverockythegreatdane.org and fill out an app. Thank you so much, we look forward to helping you.
