But his absolute favorite activity? Climbing into someone's lap with a toy, getting comfortable, and staying there for as long as they'll let him! He's the kind of puppy who would happily spend an afternoon curled up beside you while you watch television. And right now? He absolutely loves being carried around. Gucci has clearly decided that walking is optional when someone is willing to provide first-class transportation! Of course, as he grows, his future family will need to help him develop independence and good manners. But there's something incredibly sweet about a puppy who already loves human companionship this much. The Making of an Oversized Lapdog Gucci is still a young puppy, but his foster has already made a prediction about his future. He's going to be an oversized lapdog! And based on his current behavior, we think she's probably onto something. Gucci doesn't seem particularly concerned about whether he'll eventually be too big to fit comfortably in someone's lap. That's a problem for future Gucci. Current Gucci is perfectly happy climbing up, getting comfortable, and enjoying every second of affection. And if he grows into a bigger dog? Well, we suspect he'll simply expect his family to make a little more room. Because in Gucci's world, lapdog is a personality trait, not a size category! His future family should be prepared for a dog who genuinely enjoys physical affection and being close to his people. But they should also help him learn that it's okay to relax independently, settle in his own bed, and enjoy activities without constant physical contact. A healthy balance of affection, training, and independence will help Gucci grow into a confident, well-adjusted companion. Playful, Gentle & Happy-Go-Lucky Gucci is still a puppy, and his foster expects him to have low-to-medium energy as he matures. In other words, he may be very interested in what you're saying when there's a treat involved. But if he's busy playing or investigating something exciting? You might need to work a little harder to get his attention! Gucci's future family should use short, positive, engaging training sessions to help him learn that listening is rewarding. With consistency, patience, and plenty of encouragement, he'll have a great opportunity to develop wonderful manners. Potty Training, Crate Training & Puppy Manners Gucci is still a baby, so he's just beginning his training journey. His foster reports little to no potty accidents while following a consistent routine. That's a great start! However, he's not yet fully house trained, and his future family should be prepared to continue potty training as he adjusts to a new home. Crate training is also in the introduction stage. Gucci is still learning that his crate can be a safe, comfortable place to relax. His future family should continue building positive associations with the crate through consistency, patience, and age-appropriate routines. Gucci also has a few normal puppy behaviors that will need attention. Leash pulling: Gucci's leash manners need practice. He's still learning how to walk politely and respond to guidance. Mouthiness during play: Like many puppies, Gucci sometimes uses his mouth when excited. He'll need continued redirection to appropriate toys and reinforcement of gentle play.
