Story
Meet Bruno, a handsome young neutered male mixed breed doggo (our best guess is Boxer/Dutch Shepherd - DNA results pending! ). He is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 35 lbs - the perfect size! Pictures really don't do this guy justice, he's got the most beautiful brindle coat and the BEST ears!
Bruno is a friendly, energetic boy who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids (we recommend older kids 8+ as he is an exuberant young guy and may unintentionally knock over a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.
Bruno is smart and food motivated, he has been taking training classes to work on manners and impulse control, and he has been doing GREAT! The ideal home for Bruno is one where he will get plenty of mental and/or physical stimulation to set him up for success. He would also LOVE a fenced in yard of his own and maybe another playful pup in the home to keep him company!
From Bruno's current foster:
"Bruno came to Connecticut Sept. 6. Age unknown (possibly a year old, had adult teeth), heritage unknown (Dutch shepherd mix? Heeler? Boxer? Min Pin?). HAPPILY, absolutely no aggression, but lots of energy.
Fast forward two months, and he is a really great dog, LOVES training and LOVES to show off his focus. About 35 lbs, a great size. He enjoys our fenced yard and chew bones, loves our weekly training sessions, where he has mastered sit/down/touch/look/wait and even leave it.
After 3 sessions, I know he can be your forever companion as long as he has an active life or daily job. Maybe agility? Hiking? With more training, maybe a service dog or companion dog? Not a great candidate for someone working away from home 8 hrs/day, a first time dog owner or family with young children as he is exuberant."
Bruno is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today!

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!
