Story
Ruger is an 8-month-old active puppy who loves other dogs and every person he meets. He weighs about 48 lbs. He does really well in the car. Ruger recently spent a week in a home with four cats. He made friends with two and the other two ignored him and stayed upstairs. Ruger was curious and wanted to smell them, but if the cats asserted themselves, he backed away and left them alone. Ruger is good on the leash and often wants to carry the leash in his mouth. He is also pretty good about staying with his human when walking without a leash (in a confined area) – for us it’s the woods around our house. Ruger is housebroken and will go sit by the door when he needs to go out or scratch at the door. Ruger will sleep in a crate but prefers to be in bed with a human (or a comfy recliner). He has not had any issues going to the vet and being touched by strangers. Ruger learns quickly and has a great nose on him. He has learned what ice is, so for anyone adopting that has an icemaker they will need to pay the “ice tax” and give Ruger a cube. Ruger enjoys toys, bones, treats of all kinds, pinecones, and sticks of all sizes. He does not mind wearing sweaters, jackets, or his harness. When he sees a leash, he gets excited because he thinks he is going somewhere. He is very sweet and loving. When he can’t sit on the chair with his foster mom he will lay at her feet. Ruger likes to supervise everything his human does. I personally feel that with his quickness to learn and his great disposition that he would make a good service dog. He has not been evaluated. Only negatives are that he will sometimes jump up and try to grab your fingers with his mouth as you walk by. Not all the time, but occasionally.

Story
We got Bandit from the shelter late last year. He is a really good dog when you are at home. He is very very sweet and loving with my young kids, leaves my dog hating cats alone, and would cuddle all day if you let him. He is really excited to greet you when you get home and is attached at your hip. Unfortunately he has really bad separation anxiety and neither me or my husband are home during the day. He has escaped every crate we have tried, will go through the trash, eat any food left out, has chewed a few toys, and will jump up on everything. There are times we come home and he hasn’t done anything, but it’s a common theme. He would be a perfect family dog for a family with kids who is home more often and has a yard he can go in when left, or someone with more time and the means to get him some training. He is SWEET and very loving and needs a forever family.

Dexter is energetic, so lovable, and ready to nap or play at a moments notice. He wants to be everyone’s friend and is so excited to meet every living thing. He’s looking for a home where he can get lots of cuddles and lots of play. Will come with harness, leash, and kennel!
