Story
Steve !!10-12 months oldBoxer is our best guessDog friendly (MUST HAVE ANOTHER SOMEWHAT PLAYFUL DOG IN THE HOME)Cat friendliness unknownVery kid friendly with children super young to oldPotty trainedCrate trained and while he does know some commands, he is super eager to please and should be relatively eager to train regarding the othersLoves to play fetchVERY TYPICAL BOXERActive home, or home with Boxer experience that understands the breed Fully vetted45-50lbs approx Steve is a “purebred” boxer whose breeder threatened to take the remainder of the litter to AC so a woman and her daughter took the last 4 pups. The woman who took 2 pups couldn’t handle both and reached out to a contact (who we have since cut ties with) who asked us to take and said she had a great friend who could foster. With this information, and trusting this contact we agreed. The foster turned out to be horrible and actually, unbeknownst to us, had been involved in a previous public situation of neglect. Anyway this refused our suggestions to take the dog to the vet and ended up abandoning the dog, emaciated, in a park. Then we were contacted by multiple ppl who live or have family that live around the foster only to find out that the dog was shoved in a porch closet and not fed.   Obviously we demanded that the dog be taken to our partner rescues vet and shockingly he didn’t even have worms, he was completely healthy beyond being completely starved of nutrition and attention. He quickly and steadily improved at the vet and once at a healthy weight was discharged. As a result of this foster’s horrific care he is a smaller boxer than the norm as he didn’t get necessary nutrition during a critical growth period. This thankfully is the only lasting result from the horrible situation he was put in.  Now we are hoping to place him in the most fantastic foster or adoptive home upon his arrival tomorrow. Obviously an active home, a home with kids and a yard and/or a home with previous Boxer experience would be best for him as he is a very typical boxer. This is a sweet and happy go lucky boy who truly deserves an absolutely FANTASTIC home!  To Contact Us Message us through our website http://www.highplainspaw.org Message the Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/HighPlainsPAW Join and contact us through our FOSTER GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/836373273962895/?ref=share Fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.highplainspaw.org/adoption-application Fill out our Foster Application at  https://www.highplainspaw.org/foster-application Email us at highplainspaw@gmail.com Call our VOICEMAIL at (402)957-1578 $250.00 Adoption Fee (Which is considered a non refundable donation and being we are a 501c3 organization it is tax deductible.
