Story
Meet Colby, a loveable, energetic dog with a heart full of potential. Colby is a local surrender, originally purchased from a breeder. He enjoyed constant companionship when his owner worked from home. However, a new job that required long hours away from home led to Colby being left alone for extended periods, resulting in a lot of pent-up energy and a lack of training. Colby thrives in the company of other dogs and even gets along with cats. He's currently being fostered in the country with six other dogs and is having a blast. When he's not playing, Colby loves to cuddle. He's a big softy who craves affection and bonds quickly with his people, becoming a loyal friend. While Colby has many wonderful qualities, he does need some work on his leash skills. He pulls for the first few minutes of a walk, so he'll need someone patient and willing to help him learn better manners. Colby's previous lack of structure means he has no boundaries and will benefit from consistent training. He's a big goofball who just wants to play, and his new adopter should be ready to invest time in helping him learn the ropes. Colby can be a bit wary of new people and may bark initially, but he quickly warms up and reveals his sweet nature. He is crate trained, although he might cry or howl for the first ten minutes before settling down. Colby sleeps soundly through the night on the floor of his foster's bedroom. Due to his size and lack of boundaries, Colby needs a home with a backyard. Apartments won't be suitable for him. He'd do best in a household with children aged 14 and older to avoid accidental knockovers during playtime. Colby is eager to find a forever home where he can continue to grow and learn. If you have the time, patience, and love to give, Colby could be your perfect match. Adopt this big goofball and enjoy a lifetime of adventures together!

Hey everyone I'm Gus Gus! A dog with a personality as big as my heart! Some lovely people have put some money toward my adoption fee, which is now $285! How awesome is that!I have been told that I'm a pretty big goofball and I'm ready to bring laughter into your life! I am incredibly smart and am quick to pick up new tricks, especially if there's a treat involved, or even better a squeaky toy! I am a major squeaky toy fan, happy to keep myself busy with my favourite squeaky toys!I am an eager and energetic young guy, I think my perfect home would be one without any other animals (because I like to be the center of attention) one that has a big yard so I ran romp around with you, and a nice cozy spot in the sun to relax in. I dream of a day that I get to have my very own family and my very own home! I can't wait to lay at your feet... or maybe even in your bed! I am ready and excited to explore and navigate a life full of friendship and love with you!Me and my squeaky toys cant wait to meet you!-Gus Gus Primary Color: White Secondary Color: White Weight: 38.9 Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
Tessa and her 2 tiny babies were rescued from BARC in Houston on April 29, 2024, moments before they were going to be killed. They had a loving home, but their owner was taken to the hospital and his relatives dumped his dogs at the shelter. There was another dog, too, thought to be Tessa's mom, but she was killed. We can't save them all, as much as we wish we could! At least we were able to save Tessa and her babies. The photos of Tessa in her concrete cell, her head down body curled protectively around her puppies, might make you think she's guarding them from letting anyone get too close. Her facial expression doesn't exactly look warm and welcoming -- but the truth is, this mama is as sweet and affectionate with people, even people she's just met, as she is with her own babies. She's all sugar, and no spice! She had absolutely ZERO concern about having her puppies picked up and carried around by strangers, she just wanted to get a butt scratch too. We haven't known her for too long, but so far everything we've seen has been absolutely lovely. She's an amazing mama, but she's also super friendly, quiet in the house, playful with other dogs, curious to investigate new surroundings, and quick to learn. She was pretty interested in the resident cat at her foster home, but was easily redirected and seems to understand now that the cat is off-limits. She's already learning the house rules from her foster-dog siblings and loves being to,d what a good girl she is.Tessa is going to LOVE being part of a family, and we're confident she's going to be an easy, fun and precious addition to any household, whether it's with a single retiree or a busy, bustling family. We're not sure yet if she would prefer having doggie playmates or being the center of attention -- she'd probably be very happy with either, as long as she's not left alone for long periods (she hasn't shown that she has separation anxiety, we just know she's not going to like being by herself as most dogs don't). She seems to be somewhat dominant, so she won't be placed with another dominant female. She's currently in a wonderful foster home in Arkansas, and is available to join a loving household nearly anywhere in the continental US or Ontario. Story
Clyde is an absolutely fabulous little puppy who was rescued from BARC in Houston at the end of April, 2024, when he was only 2 weeks old. He and his sister Bonnie were the only 2 litter mates found with their mama, Tessa, who is a boxer mix and an absolute gem. All 3 are in a loving foster home in Arkansas, living with several other dogs and a cat. They spend their time rolling around together playing in the grass or on the carpet or on the couch or wherever they happen to be at any given moment, unless they're passed out cold from playing so much. They're getting loads of socialization and have zero fear people or other animals. They're a delightful young family of sweet, healthy, happy little doggies.Tessa is about 50 pounds. We have zero clue what kind of dog the puppies' dad was, but they seem to be growing up to be pretty big.
