Story
Boots is a large, strong, and affectionate dog looking for an experienced home. Born March 6, 2022, he is energetic, people-oriented, and forms close bonds with his handlers. He enjoys being near his humans and thrives on attention and companionship. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he can jump up on adults when excited. This is not aggression and would benefit greatly from consistent training and clear structure. An experienced owner willing to continue training or work with a professional trainer will do very well with him. He does well with calm, respectful children and responds well to verbal cues. With slow, proper introductions, he can do well with other animals. He is not neutered and is not currently up to date on vaccinations (first-year shots completed). Due boots being very enthusiastic tail wagging, he can occasionally bump his tail on hard surfaces when excited. This is manageable with supervision and appropriate care. There is no fee I just want him in the right home.

Story
Meet Emjay – Your 100-Pound Lap Dog with a Heart of Gold! At 7 years old, Emjay is a gentle, soulful bulldog who’s equal parts snuggly teddy bear and backyard goofball. He may tip the scales at nearly 100 pounds, but don’t tell him that—he still firmly believes he’s a lap dog. If you're looking for a cuddle companion who’s always down for a nap on the couch (preferably with his head on your chest), Emjay might just be your guy. Emjay lives for the little things in life: quiet walks, sniffing the breeze, and lazy afternoons spent lounging near his people. Due to some ongoing health concerns and his age, he's happiest in calm environments where he can take things at his own pace. That said, don’t be fooled—he still gets spectacular bursts of playful energy and loves to show off his moves with his favorite toys in the backyard. Emjay is working hard on his dog social skills and is making amazing progress! He’s learning to check in with his handler when he spots another dog and is getting better at staying calm and focused. He’ll thrive with adopters who can advocate for his space, especially in busy or dog-heavy environments. He’s not asking for isolation—just a little understanding. To help him feel secure (and show off his impressive training chops), he wears his muzzle like a pro. Smart as they come, Emjay picks up new cues quickly and is always eager to learn. He’s already fluent in a variety of commands and is motivated by praise, treats, and the occasional silly voice. Like all of us, Emjay carries some baggage, and he’ll need a patient, loving home that’s willing to work with him as he adjusts to his new life. But we promise—he’s absolutely worth it. He’s not just a dog; he’s a loyal, expressive companion with so much love to give. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, sometimes-silly bulldog who just wants to be your best friend (and maybe the center of your world), we’d love to introduce you to Emjay. Let’s find this beautiful boy the forever home he deserves.

Story
Juniper is a sweet, 9 year old female mixed breed dog. She had a rough start to life as a stray, suffered and overcame heartworm and has shown everyone who meets her how smart, gentle and funny is truly is. Although she has come so far, she still carries a lot of the baggage and anxiety from her earlier days. Junie loves to take naps, relax, stretch her legs and look forward to things in her usual routine. Walks, people and squirrel watching, stretching out on the couch. She also loves to be around friends, go to the pet store, the hardware store or Starbucks. She adores car rides and playing in sprinklers. Sometimes those fun outings can be overstimulating and cause her to become stressed and can also be stressful for her human friends. Her current foster parents have found out that taking time to introduce her to any new situation- allowing her to see (and safely sniff) a new place, keeping the first visit short and pairing it with treats, praise and patience can make a huge difference for her. She has time and time again shown that with each visit to a slightly less routine place, she becomes more comfortable and relaxed. And yes, we think her new adopters may even need to do this with their neighborhood coffee shop. Adopters will also need to pre-plan for potentially high stress situations where Junie may feel the need to act first and ask questions later before she understands what is happening. Asking people to give her space and giving her breaks when she needs them are very important for Junie. The great thing is: Junie enjoys being around friends in a predictable way such as having her mat to sit on with a chew treat when she needs a break from being a social butterfly.
