You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Are you looking for the perfect dog? Look no further! Beaux is your boy. History: Beaux was found as a stray so not much is known of his history but he has been an absolute joy to foster.   Personality: He is a loving, playful, and very silly boy. He does not have a mean bone in his body and is always up for clinging by your side.   Favorite Activities: Beaux is still a young pup and loves to play with other dogs.  He is also always ready to eat and taste mom's cooking. Medical Issues: He came into MTM a little underweight and still needs to put on about 10 pounds but he is otherwise healthy.  He did go in for an echocardiogram which demonstrated a normal cardiac structure and all of the cardiac wall thickness and chamber sizes were found to be within normal limits. What would be the best kind of home: Beau would love another large dog to play and romp around with and a fenced-in yard is preferred.    Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. She's about 4 years old and this big, beautiful Boerboel arrived in July, 2023 after having a couple of unfit homes. Spice needed some time to put all of that behind her, and she needed help in learning how to trust again. She's a resilient girl though, and she does her best not to let things get her down. Unfortunately, it does get her down, being here for so long. When Spice comes out of the kennel with friends, she's a big, bubbly goofball! She bonds intently with her friends and, as mastiffs are, she's protective of those she's bonded with. It takes her a minute or two to get to know and trust you but once she does, she just about knocks you over with leaning against you to get all of your attention. Spice is well-behaved and has learned lots! She knows sit, stay, down, paw, and so much more. She's good on a leash and loves toys too! Spice has had lousy experiences with pets in the past so it's best if she goes to a home where she can be an only pet. That just means she'll love YOU all the more though. She hopes so much that you'll just give her a chance already. She'll love you forever if you do. Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Daisy is a wrinkly 150-pound Neapolitan mastiff, a superstar pop singer looking for her forever bandmates. History: She came to MTM from Virginia Beach, VA.  She was purchased from a breeder and given to another family before being surrendered to MTM.  Likes:  Daisy's love language is physical touch.  Not necessarily to be pet, but she always has to know you’re nearby.  She will lie on your feet to be as close as she can.  She loves treats and will “talk” to you when she knows you’re about to give her one.  Dislikes:  She dislikes being alone for long periods of time and gets anxious. Personality: Sweet, loveable, playful, and easygoing.  Temperament: Gentle despite her size.  She is calm and intelligent.  Great on a leash and at the vet.  She takes meds with no issues and has no issue being handled. Energy level: She has low energy; sometimes may enjoy bursts of activity but is mostly laid-back and relaxed.  She enjoys walks but has no need for an intense exercise session. Favorite activities: Most definitely is laying on the floor as close as possible to her family.  Her ideal day consists of a movie marathon and simply being with her humans.  She does like other dogs, but her humans are #1.  She is also a beautiful singer and loves to serenade her family Challenges: Daisy wants to be closest to her humans, so if other Velcro dogs are in the house it could hurt some feelings.  She would do better with other dogs in the home that are not Velcro so she can get her love bucket overflowing.  She does have the potential for separation anxiety. Any Medical issues? Daisy recently had her double entropion surgery for her cherry eyes as well as TPLO surgery and is recovering nicely.  She still has some chronic skin issues so will need an owner who can give her a daily wipe down of her wrinkles.   What would be the best kind of home? Daisy would love a work-from-home parent.  She adores people, loves car rides, and would be a wonderful vacation companion.  A single-level home or limited access to stairs would be best for her.  She will also need an owner to keep her face, eyes, and wrinkles cleaned and able to bathe her once a week. Our rescue policy requires the following: Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt a giant breed dog to homes where the dog will have access to highly varnished hardwood steps inside the home. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Methods or devices using pain or force on the dog to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior is prohibited. Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked. All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home. All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home. Any dog(s) in the applicant's home must have an introductory meeting with the rescue dog being considered, before any adoption can be completed. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption. Exceptions to this policy can be found on the Adoptable Dog Page. Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to approve or deny any adoption that occurs through this organization without disclosure.  We reserve the right to make exceptions for special circumstances. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Goofy Loveable Wanabe lap dog! PERSONALITY: Very goofy, Wonky, wants to be a lap dog and get lots of belly rubs. He does not beg for food, but he does beg for lots of love! He thinks he is the size of a Chihuahua so he will knock you over but is so very remorseful! He does need some confidence boosting but he is very eager to learn so much!   Duke needs time to warm up to new people.  Think of him as a baby deer...avert your eyes, don't speak to him, and just wait for him to come to you. Once your in you are in!  He loves kids and enjoys running around and cuddling with them too.  He is also not a fan of sassy dogs who try to tell him the business!  He did work with a trainer to develop some key skills of redirection while on walks and those skills should be followed in his new home.   FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Running around outback playing with his foster brothers, receiving his BarkBox every month and having a new chew toy to demolish! MEDICAL ISSUES: None!   WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: With another dog companion that does NOT bark at him when meeting. Younger couple that can handle his weight when he pulls on the leash when he gets excited. Someone that is home often because he is bigger being in a crate for longer than 6 hours is hard on his bones! **Puppy Adoption Policy: To ensure proper house training and socialization, puppies will only be adopted to homes where an adult will not be away more than an hour per day, per month of age of the puppy, up to 6 months. Certain large-breed dogs should not be sterilized prior to 12 - 18 months of age. If you adopt an intact puppy, you will sign an adoption contract agreeing to have the dog sterilized at your expense at the time your veterinarian recommends. Proof of sterilization must be provided to Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue as soon as the procedure is completed. If the puppy is not sterilized as required, Mastiffs To Mutts Rescue reserves the right to claim legal ownership of the dog.  Important notes before applying.
