Story
Madam Fluffy Beans came to us as an owner surrender in February of 2023. She was a bit shy and had some trouble adjusting. We utilized our foster base and got her out of here so we could see what she was like in a home. This is what her amazing foster parents have to say about her: Madam is a sweet but shy senior, and she will do best with someone who is willing to be patient with her while she learns to trust humans. She began her time in foster care completely terrified to come out of hiding whenever people were around. For a few months, she observed everything from the safety of the condo on her cat tree, and would only come out to eat or use the litter when no people were around. If anyone entered her space unexpectedly, she would sprint back her shelter almost cartoonishly fast. However, she loved getting ear scratches in her condo, and would even purr and lean into them. It took time, gentle coaxing, and patience, but madam will now leave her hiding places to approach her fosters and demand pets (as long as they are quiet and gentle with her). Madam's stay in foster care has demonstrated that if you give her enough time, keep her environment calm and quiet, and let her come out of her shell on her own terms, she will eventually open up to be incredibly loving and cuddly.

Story
King Kong is a Hermitage alumni! His owner passed away in April of 2025 and a nice neighbor took him and his housemate in. He was returned to us in November of 2025. This magnificent cat was a little unsure about who we were and where he was. It didn't take long to watch him strutting around the senior room and walk right up to people as if to say "Hello! I see you're here to pet me!" We all happy oblige because how could we not? Just look at him. He's got so many years left in him. As much as we'd miss him, we'd love to get him in a home again!

Mr. Hubbard came to us as an owner surrender in October of 2021 with his 3 sisters.  He does great at comforting them and we've been working on comforting him.  He is shy to start but warms up with the right approach.  He is absolutely stunning and when he settles in, he'll make a great addition to your family!  He’s been making a few close feline friends in the shelter which has really helped his self esteem and he is really starting to blossom!October 23, 2024, 12:09 am

He's been making a few close feline friends in the shelter which has really helped his self esteem and he is really starting to blossom! One of those friends is Luwak who he met after his arrival to the shelter. They can be seen all over together and they are always nuzzling each other and sharing meals. Due to how close they've become, they are now a bonded pair and would need to be adopted together.

Story
Tanjiro is a Hermitage alumni. He got to spend 3 years out of the shelter in a home before his owners moved and had to return him. This has caused a slight behavioral issue where he doesn't always use the litterbox. We would hope he wouldn't do that in a home but obviously cannot say that for sure. He's a sweet boy who loves the spotlight. He would be such an amazing companion in a home! You can often find him displaying his signature pose of his legs stretched out from a cat tree. It makes us giggle when we see him. At the right angle, his cute little black spot on his mouth makes it look like he's wearing black lipstick.

Story
Lira was brought to us in September of 2021.  She has already been adopted and returned as she determined it wasn't quite the right fit for her.  Lira takes a little bit to warm up to you.  She does have some overstimulation issues so you will want to get to know her clues that she's becoming that way.  Once you look into those emerald green eyes though, you will want to get to know her and learn everything about her that you can!October 23, 2024, 12:09 am
