Meet Baby Girl! Beautiful Baby Girl is a sweet senior lady who came to us as an owner surrender when they were no longer in a situation to care for her. She lived with a cat-friendly dog and another cat, so we she's used to other animals! Baby Girl is curious and likes to explore, and she loves being petted. She does struggle a bit to keep her long hair groomed, so she'll need some help with brushing. You'll fall in love when she looks at you with her big, unique eyes! Baby Girl is around 14 years old and is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you have room in your home and your heart for this senior lady, go to al-van.org/adopt to fill out an application. *Some pet-finding websites aside from our own are very slow to update after an animal is adopted, and this is outside of our control. Story
Meet Groundhog! This absolutely beautiful boy came to us as a severely injured stray on, you guessed it- Groundhog Day! Poor Groundhog had a very deep gash on his neck when he arrived, luckily noticed by the kind person who brought him in. We were able to get him to a vet right away and he has healed wonderfully! Upon intake, we also discovered that he tested positive for FIV. Groundhog is a calm and gentle boy, and can still live side by side with healthy cats. He's a little shy at first, and definitely loves cuddling in cat caves, but once he recognizes you, he'll come out and roll on his back for belly pats as soon as he sees you. He's soft and sweet and gets along with other calm kitties. Groundhog is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is FIV positive, and that does not require any additional care, but since FIV cats are immunocompromised, they can be more susceptible to illness. It would be best for other animals in the house to be healthy or also FIV positive. If you're interested in adopting Groundhog, go to al-van.org/adopt to fill out an application!

Story
Grandpa T is a sweet senior fellow of around 16 years old who came to us from another rescue after he was relinquished because his family was moving... this guy needs a second chance at a real forever home! Pa T does NOT like other cats & would do best as the only pet in a home. Perhaps because of his abandonment, he needs affection with new people to be slow & on his terms, he will react negatively if you do not respect his boundaries. When he feels safe & you've earned his trust he will headbutt you for pets & show off his lap cat side. Pa T is FIV positive but that doesn't affect his day to day life at all!

Story
Glenda was found curled up in an apartment complex lot after her owner moved out. She had a large healing wound on her hip and her coat was in bad shape. She battled a bladder infection when we first got her but is doing better now! She does have some early elevated kidney values that will need to be watched, but she's a sweet girl who deserves a calm home. She can be a bit spicy when you try to make her do something she rather not! She would probably do best in a quieter home where she can be the boss!

Story
Emile came to us from the same place, but is definitely more shy. He was far less socialized than some of the other kitties we got out of this situation, and he wasn’t even fixed yet. We got him fixed and up-to-date on vaccines, but he was still incredibly scared of people and would yowl and growl to let us know about it whenever we approached his condo. We could see he was curious and wanting to be brave, so he moved to a foster who could focus on his socialization directly. Sure enough, 24 hours—and one churu treat—later, he had visibly relaxed and even allowed some very tentative chin scritches! Turns out this boy will do just about anything for more churu. He still has some domestic cat skills left to master and a ways to go on his socialization journey, but he has graduated to allowing pets all around his head without treats (if you go slow) and mainly yowling when his foster buddies are getting treats instead of him. Emile will need a quiet home with someone who understands his ways of communication and at least one brave kitty friend to remind him everything’s okay. We are now accepting applications to meet Emile!

Story
Delilah came to us from someone who took her in but realized she didn't get along with their dogs. At first, she was very scared, but she has blossomed so far being at the cafe! She LOVES people, she loves getting all the pets she deserves! She would love a forever home of her own, but would probably be ok with a kitty roommate.
