Story
Lenore is a sweet old lady who is ready to settle down and find her soulmate in her forever home. While it takes her a few weeks to really truly show her personality, once she gets comfortable in her space, she is such a sweetheart. Her favorite activity (no matter the time of day) is looking out at the world through the window. She is a lazy girl most of the time, but she is a kitten at heart. A toy mouse, puff ball, and anything on a stick are her favorite toys to play with (especially if they have feathers). She is an extremely curious girl but she's very respectful when she does so. It's adorable to watch and let her explore her space. She's very sneaky and quiet but is mostly full of manners. She's never had an issue with the litterbox when I've had her. As she does have long hair, it's important to prioritize brushing her for at least a few minutes a day to prevent hairballs but don't worry, she loves being brushed! I'm not sure how she would be with kids and/or other animals but since she has lived most of her life in a quiet house, I would think that she would appreciate keeping it that way.

Story
Harriet is a calm and rather reserved adult cat. She is declawed in front but enjoys the activity of “clawing” her cardboard scratching pad and my wicker basket chest. She is not a cuddly or demonstrative cat; she loves human company but prefers to supervise from her favorite chair across the room. Once she gets to know you she will hop up on the bed or chair to be petted but stays only a few minutes. She loves being brushed with her slicker brush, even her belly. She is fine with being handled (paws included) although she prefers you to leave her tail alone. She loves having a hidey hole to hang out in when she is not supervising her humans, and she also enjoys having a window perch; she is fascinated by squirrels and toads. She can be a bit prickly at times and most emphatically does not enjoy being skritched; long smooth petting only, please! She would not do well with children. She is tolerant of dogs but does not actively engage with them and will hiss/swat if the dog nose gets into her personal space. She has had no opportunity to interact with other cats in foster care though she did originate from a 2-cat household. She had a bladder stone when she arrived at CMHS that caused her to have some litter box issues. The stone was removed surgically and she is on a special diet, but is at risk for stone reoccurrence. In the several months she has been in foster care she has had zero litter box issues. She really likes her hairball treats and has had no hairball issues, either. Her feet do not appear to bother her at all. If you are looking for a very chill adult cat, give Harriet a look!
