Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Freedom is a handsome boy who has been through a lot, including recent moves from Staten Island to New Jersey and then back to NYC. Though his soul is gentle, he can be very timid and fearful at times with new people or new environments. Any adopter should be prepared to be patient during the first few weeks as he may take a while to adjust to a new place and person. After several weeks in his present foster home, though, he's emerged as a friendly, very social cat who follows his foster around the house and has even started to enjoy belly rubs. With a patient & calm person or persons, Freedom should do great. He's not yet a lap cat, but seems to be moving in that direction and presently keeps his foster company on the sofa.  Freedom LOVES to play with his wand toy and can't wait to play with the other cats in the home (he's slowly being introduced to them at the present). Freedom appears friendly, playful, and completely non-aggressive with other cats. Freedom should definitely be in a home where he'd have at least one feline companion. Given how social he's become in just a few weeks, would also recommend him for a home where there are multiple people and/or a person around pretty often so he won't get too lonely. He's been friendly and gentle, even when spooked such as being picked up, so he would likely do fine with children old enough to understand how to interact well with cats. Any adopter should also be prepared for his grooming needs which are on the high side for a MC mix: this gorgeous boy has a very thick coat that must get frequent attention. Right now he likes being detangled with fingers and not a comb, but the latter is definitely recommended in his future.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Located in Alexandria VA Diablo and his sister Siren were found at a gas station in NC when they were a few weeks old  She was initially nervous around people, but has since realized that they can provide them with toys, food, and attention. She has a sassy and adventurous spirit and will try to find the highest perches to climb, or figure out how to get into any nook and cranny she can find. She may be more timid than her brother at first, but eventually she will come to you for pets and even punch your foot to get your attention. The siblings were adopted from OMC in 2022 but unfortunately have been returned to the rescue. They've been re-vetted and are happy healthy adult kitties now. From a personality and appearance perspective, they look and are exactly as we remember them, just a lot bigger! Diablo is a big gentle giant who loves being held like a baby, and has learned a love of going outside on a leash. Siren is just as mischievous as always, and has learned how to jimmy open a door or two.  They must be adopted as a pair.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Willow, a beautiful green-eyed, grey tabby Maine Coon Mix. Willow was recently rescued in the Philadelphia, PA area, and she cannot wait to find the purr-fect home!   Willow's best quality is that she "loves to love" those around her! When she's not seeking out hugs and soft cuddles from her humans, she enjoys playing with her foster siblings. The vet estimates she is under a year old, and still has a TON of kitten energy. Willow will do best in a home with another cat, and is okay with kids. If you don't already have a fantastic cat companion for her, she would be ecstatic to go home with one of her foster siblings. If you adopt Willow, you will have a best friend for life!   Willow is located in the Philadelphia, PA area. If interested in adopting Willow, please reach out to Sophia Stockert at sophia.stockert@gmail.com for more information.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 17, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Fern is a gorgeous long-haired white cat, ten years old, and deaf. He us goofy and playful, and adores other cats (indifferent to dogs). He enjoys affection and romping around with his feline buddies. He has a wonderful personality, and is a fun addition to any home! As many long haired cats, Fern is prone to hotspots on his neck (they happen maybe once every two years). He must wear an e-collar when these occur; otherwise he scratches himself and takes a while to heal. He is currently recovering from such an episode, but is doing well. We will send a cone with him to his new adopters. Apply for Fern here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RARI/Cat
