Story
Bella and her sister, Taylor, were skittish stray kittens who unfortunately have remained rather skittish.  They will take plenty of time and patience to transform into typical house cats, and may never fully enjoy being picked up or cuddled unless it's on their terms. We know the right home is waiting for this cute little duo with patience and time they will get comfortable and let their purrsonalities shine. Bella is still shy and learning to trust humans so she would do best in a quiet home that can give her a safe space, and attention as she feels more comfortable will come out to get love on her terms. They are shy kitties and will need a calm home. An adoption application is required, if you are interested in adopting we have included the link here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36482/generic We are a foster home based rescue in Clarksville, TN, and our cats are in private foster homes in the Clarksville area. An adoption application is required to meet our kitties. Once your application is reviewed and upon approval, we will then provide the information to schedule a meet and greet with their foster. We are a 100% volunteer run organization and have varying hours, as our volunteers work during the day, our goal is to process adoption applications within 24-72 hours, please be patient with us! Story
*Special Needs* Donna Summer and her kitten were found living in a storm drain in McGregor Park by Cats MEOW TNR and were safely trapped and taken to The Cats on Commerce for evaluation.  It was discovered that Donna Summer's teeth were unfortunately in very bad condition and she would need a full dental extraction.  She was a champ through a five hour surgery and has been a sweet, affectionate mama cat now that she isn't living in constant pain. She also has a slight head tilt but is in great health Due to having a full teeth extraction and given her age, Donna Summer will need to be on wet food-only diet-she needs wet food mixed with warm water/broth and mixed into a soup consistency. She will do best in a calm, quiet home without too many other pets given her age and past trauma from trying to survive on the streets, but she loves other friendly kitties and would love a cat sibling! She's a sweet, gentle soul and would make an excellent companion, especially for someone who is retired or works from home. Donna purrs as soon as you start petting her and makes little kitty biscuits (it's so cute) and will need some extra time to feel comfortable, but will absolutely adore you! She likes catnip and to sit in the warm sun and watch out the window in her favorite cozy spot. Patience is key as she will take a few days to come out of her safe space but has a tiny squeaky meow and will come right to you for love and nose boops! A calm home is best suited for her The first step in our process is to complete an adoption application. Our adoption process begins by submitting an application (link here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36482/generic),  After an application is reviewed and approved, we schedule a meet and greet with the adopter and the cat(s) in question to ensure it's a great fit. A submitted application is not a guarantee of approval.  Finders Keepers Cat Rescue is a foster home-based rescue in Clarksville, TN, and our cats are in private foster homes in the Clarksville area. Bella and her sister, Taylor, were skittish stray kittens who unfortunately have remained rather skittish.  After being in their foster home who has worked with them, she is more personable and has learned to like attention and chin scratchies. Taylor will let you pet her but is not too fond of being picked up and loud noises still make her nervous. She does love having her sister to cuddle with so adopting them together or having a kitty in the home already will help with her comfort. She will spend most of her time in her safe quiet space, so a calm home would be best suited for her. They will take plenty of time and patience to transform into typical house cats, and may never fully enjoy being picked up or cuddled unless it's on their terms. Story
Do you have a calm home that can let this pretty gal decompress while being tge queen? Sassafras was pulled from Montgomery County Animal Care and Control thanks to our partnership and their willingness to let us help cats who have a "spicy" side.  Sassy was not having a grand time at the shelter due to its busy nature and was very stressed and growly toward the staff and other cats.  Once she was pulled into her foster home, it was discovered that this adorable gal is actually quite sweet and had been front declawed at some point as well as terribly matted throughout most of her long hair.  No wonder she likes to growl!   Sassafras would do best with an experienced cat owner who can have patience with her when she runs out of patience herself.  She loves head and chin scritches and full body pets.  She will be very vocal to let you know where her boundaries are.  She also loves to burrow and hide under her cat bed, so having a place where she can feel safe and secure will definitely help her adjust to any new surroundings. Some of her triggers are fast, sudden movements, and her first instinct is to run away.  If she isn't able to run away, she'll innocently swat her front declawed paw and may try to nip to enforce her boundaries as her only other line of defense.  Again, she will need an experienced, patient cat owner as Sassafras may take 3 or more weeks to fully settle in (and for the cat owner to fully understand all of her eccintricities).  You may even want to consider fostering her for a while to see if she'll be the right fit for you!   Finders Keepers Cat Rescue is a foster home-based rescue in Clarksville, TN, and our cats are in private foster homes in the Clarksville area. Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or have another cat already in the home. An adoption application is required to meet our kitties.
