Story
I took this cat in temporarily to help out a family member, but I’m not able to keep pets in my apartment and can’t give him the long-term care he deserves. He’s a sweet, calm cat who loves food, cuddles, and being petted. He’s been gentle with my toddler, the only time he hissed was when my toddler pulled his tail. He’s overall a very chill and loving cat and would do great in a stable home.

Story
DOB 10/27/23 – Winter23 is a sweet female cat. She came to us as a kitten with an issue with her left eye. She loves the string wand and being petted and brushed. I normally brush her while rubbing her ear/chin and she will allow brushing of her tummy also. Sometimes when she gets overstimulated while being brushed/petted she might lick her hand and then very lightly bite; I just pull my hand away, tell her “No” and leave her alone for a few minutes. The vet believes she previously sustained a penetrating trauma to her left eye and her iris came forward to plug the hole (iris prolapse). The wound has healed, leaving a mound of iris tissue and scar at the site. Her left eye appears smaller. She will always have a raised brown spot at the top of this eye, but it may flatten out some as she ages. This spot may be somewhat fragile compared to normal tissue; should she develop any signs of active corneal leaking (watery discharge, squinting, etc.) seek veterinary care right away. A post-traumatic ocular sarcoma can develop, making it difficult for owners or regular veterinarians who do not perform a total in-depth eye exam so full eye exams, preferably by an ophthalmologist, every 6 months for her life. She has not had any eye issues whatsoever since October of 2024. I will rub her chin/ear on her left side, but I normally avoid petting her around her left eyebrow and eye. Because of her eye issues it is recommended she be adopted to a household with no children. She can be with another cat, just one that is very laid back; you want to avoid any potential that her eye would be swatted.

Story
Gomez is a small, long-haired black beauty who looks like he wandered out of a gothic novel. Once living on the streets of Milwaukee, he’s now fully retired from the wild and thriving in his new role as Curious House Supervisor. He must know what you’re doing… but once he observes he politely removes himself from your personal space, like a consummate professional, of course. He’s confident, calm, and so well behaved. Gomez enjoys wand toys, laser pointers, and looking impressive while doing absolutely nothing. His coat is luxurious, his tail is absurdly fluffy, and his vibe is “mysterious roommate who never causes problems.” Gomez would do best in a home without small kids, ideally with adults (and teens) who appreciate a cat that’s social without being clingy. He’s fine as an only cat, good with other cats, and requires no special skills beyond basic appreciation of fluff and quiet companionship. If you’re looking for a low-drama, high-fluff cat, Gomez is ready to move in. DOB: 6/10/23 All cats are altered, microchipped, dewormed and given age appropriate vaccinations. PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a physical shelter, therefore all our cats reside in foster homes. We do require a completed application prior to setting up a Meet & Greet in a foster home. Complete an application today! https://www.urbancats.org/adopt Si necesitas ayuda en Español, por favor contáctenos a info@urbancats.org. If cats are listed, consider them available.
