Story
Starla wandered onto our porch one cold night in September at 5 weeks old and wouldn't stop meowing until we came out and fed her. As cat lovers we didn't have the room to keep her, but decided to take her in for the winter to keep her out of the cold. Starla has grown into an adorable and playful little kitten. She socializes well with our other cats and they all love playing together. She is very energetic and loves playing so make sure you have toys to keep her entertained. When she's all tuckered out she loves curling up and sleeping on us. She is a well behaved kitten with a rambunctious side like all kittens have. She loves to be held and adores being pet and brushed. She's content to sleep in our bed or anywhere in the house. Overall she's a great cat and we would keep her if we didn't already have so many cats in our house. We are hoping to find her a good home and will gladly get her shots and have her spayed so she can go to a good home.

Story
PAWS County had 2 sickly Moms and 4 babies all turned in together. No one was sure who was the actual mom of they were a combination of two families, we had no information to go off of except there were 6 sickly kittens who needed help and needed to leave the shelter. So we took in the entire crew in order to get them healthy, socialized and fully vetted until they get their permanent, indoor living home.Zerek, like the other "Z" babies from this litter have just been let out from their kennel and are running around in our adoption room. They are getting adjusted to being with other cats besides their litter as well as people wanting to pick them up. Because they were born outside of a home, they tend to run from us. They couldn't do this while in a kennel, so they are used to being petted and loved. With more space, they make a game of it. Once they are caught or if they are picked up while sitting still, they are just fine. They don't mind being held or loved. When they go to their home this will be something that should be known that they will need to be acclimated to not only the home, but people wanting to play with them. Of course, we will continue to interact with them and this is going to improve each day. When a person isn't trying to get their picture or pick them up, they are running, playing and living the energetic kitten life. Want to get some steps in while giving a kitten a new home? Come and meet Zerek.

Story
Whiskers has been with us since April of 2023. She is content, she is not near as shy as she was in the beginning. She stays out in the open and loves it when she is petted. Sometimes she even comes up to volunteers just to get some attention. She is still a very laid back cat, at least in the shelter environment. But Whiskers deserves to go to a home of her own. She is fine with other cats. She may revert back a little when her environment changes again, but we have seen her come around. It would be a much quicker transition in a loving home where she can receive more individual attention. If you are her potential adopter and don't have another cat, we will be happy to show you some of the other cats in our shelter that Whiskers loves to cuddle up with who have similar personalities. Let us know. She is an obvious beauty, but she is so much more. She is a cat in waiting!!Whiskers is fully vetted now and she is healthy, but she still likes to hide. She will come out when there is only one or two people at the shelter, but otherwise, we don't see her much. She is still very much in need of a patient, understanding indoor home. Maybe with one or two adults. She could live with another cat. But if it gets much more active than that, she may remain the way she is.Whiskers was an indoor cat, but she came from a terrible hoarding situation, therefore didn't get the care he actually needed. When she came to he had terrible infected eyes. We are taking care of Whisker's medical needs and had her spayed and fully vetted. She is doing much better now but she is not a very friendly cat because she didn't get the attention he required for socialization. She needs to find him a great, understanding inside home where he can interact with his humans and be loved. It may take awhile, but as she has never been outside on her home, we are going to do our best to socialize her and get her ready for a fabulous situation where she will thrive.

Story
Just a note about beautiful Emma, she is fully ready for adoption physically, but she is still very timid. She has gone to a foster's home with more people and a child and we hope that she will come out of her shell a bit more. You are more than welcome to put in an application, but we are going to gauge her personality for a few weeks.Adoption Fee: $250Emma Rayane is ready to find her home! She loves to play with her toys and it is such fun watching her. Her first part of life we full of medication in order to get her in this great condition. This has left her just a little gun shy when approached by a human, she thinks she is going to get medicated. Since she has been healthy for several weeks now, she is slowly getting out of that habit. So when she goes to her new home it may take her a little more time than some kittens to become outgoing and super loving. However, we know she will. She was that way before she had to be given so much medicine and she is beginning to not mind being picked up and held for short period of times. Take this into consideration when meeting her. We guarantee that if you give her a chance you will not be disappointed. And her amazing feet with her extra toes are something to behold!!! She, like all of our cats, required an indoor only home. If you are interested in Emma Rayane, please meet her!!!This sweet little small girl was found in the woods behind a volunteers home. She was scrawny and lost and crying loudly. She came into our shelter so that we could care for her, give her proper nutrition and eventually get her fully vetted so that she can find a wonderful, safe home.
