Story
Hello, hello, hello! My name is Rue! I'm an adorable lionness and I am ready to bring you cuddles upon cuddles. I came to High Country Humane because I was found wandering on my own. Regardless of where I came from, I'm just focused on finding my furever home. I can't wait to birdwatch from your windows, bask in the warm sunshine, and take catnaps in comfy, cozy beds. I love to be pet, eat all my wet food and chase things! I get along pretty well with the other cats I live with, but if they crowd me I get a little hissy. I'm sure I could grow to love my new kitty sibling if you have one, but I wouldn't mind being the one that gets all your attention either! Before I came to the shelter I met a dog in the kind person's home, but I ignored them. I'm not a fan of this shelter life so would you please come meet me soon? Come by High Country Humane between 11-5PM to meet me! Oh, and I'm told you may want to know these things: I'm fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on my vaccines. I also need to go home in a carrier. If you have one of your own, please bring it with you just in case! If you don't bring one, you can easily pick up a cardboard carrier onsite for just $10!

HI my name is Reba and I am just the sweetest red head you will ever meet. I am a little shy at first but once I get to know you I am the best lap cat. So if you are looking for a wonderful companion to spend your nights and days with I am the girl for you. I would be ok with older gentle kids but I really want to be the only princess cat in the home. I am spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccines. So come on, what are you waiting for? You know you want me, so come meet me and take me home today! Due to the pipeline fire I am in a foster home. If you would like to meet me please contact Summer at sbullard@highcountryhumane.org and she will arrange a meet and greet with my foster family. Hope to meet you soon!

Story
Fluffy is an adorable medium hair brown tabby who is sweet, affectionate and cuddly. He was born 10/3/23. He likes to play, but his real love is being with people and having his soft fur petted all day. Fluffy and his brother Turbo (listed separately) originally came to UAF from a shelter in NM, and were adopted by a loving family who adored the kittens. Unfortunately, the family dog became obsessed with the kittens, and the family determined that they needed to find a new home for the kittens so that they would not be harmed by the dog. These siblings like to snuggle and play together. We would prefer that they be adopted together, but might consider adopting them separately under the right circumstances. He is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is neutered and is microchipped. Our adoption fee for one altered kitten (up to 1 year old) is $100 and for two altered kittens is $125 which helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets United Animal Friends rescues. If a kitten is adopted and taken home before the required set of kitten vaccinations is completed, the adopter will be responsible for completing any of the required vaccinations including a rabies vaccination at 4 months at their own expense. If you have any questions or to adopt a cat from United Animal Friends (UAF) an application must be filled out. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home. From the Petfinder website (Petfinder.com) click the 'More About Us Button' and then click on the 'Adoption Application' button that will take you to the United Animal Friends website. Then follow the UAF website directions below: From the United Animal Friends website: Select "Adoptable Cats" and pick the cat you are interested in. To apply to adopt, open the cat's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started. The fastest way to get to the adoptable cat page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-cats/ A United Animal Friends representative will contact you soon after receiving the application form. Story
Simba is a medium hair, orange tabby with an amazing, gentle personality. Although he is an older gentleman, he is active, curious, funny and, above all, seriously affectionate and loving. Simba is gentle with other cats, especially with his feline buddy, Sunshine, who is also available for adoption. He loves to sit in the window and watch the birds. He quickly became the favorite of the UAF volunteers as his personality made everyone who met him fall in love with him. Simba is 10.5-years-old. He has a thyroid condition which is controlled by an inexpensive medication. He was one of 8 cats who came from the home of an elderly gentleman who had fallen ill and could no longer care for his cats. Simba is now ready to share his love with a new, lucky family. He is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is neutered and is microchipped. Our adoption fee for one altered adult cat (7+ years old) is $75 which helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets United Animal Friends rescues. There is a discounted adoption fee for a second cat that is adopted at the same time. If you have any questions or to adopt a cat from United Animal Friends (UAF) an application must be filled out. Story
Sunshine is a mellow, affectionate sweetie despite surviving recent neglect in a hoarding situation. Sunshine finds her companions and tucks into a comfy spot to keep an eye on them. She loves nap time! Sunshine is a 7-year-old buff-colored female with a medium length coat. She had a complete blood panel done recently - the results were all good with no sign of disease found. She is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is spayed and is microchipped. Story
Sandy and her brother Tink (listed separately) are very sweet cats, loving and affectionate. They are good with other cats, dogs and children. Sandy and Tink are just fantastic cats not to mention beautiful. They are bonded and need to stay together. Sandy and Tink were relinquished to us when a family who took in a stray cat that was pregnant ended up with too many cats. Sandy is a medium hair orange who was born 7/8/23. She is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, is spayed and is microchipped. Our adoption fee for one altered kitten (up to 1 year old) is $100 and for two altered kittens is $125 which helps cover expenses (vaccinations, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets United Animal Friends rescues.
