Story
BARN CAT:Tomahawk came from a high volume hoarding case, he was one of over 130 animals, all living in one house. One common issue with such a high number of animals living in one house is that socialization and health status`s of each individual animal is often not noticed by the caregiver; leaving a large group of animals (in this case cats) in a hard adoption predicament. Socialization wise, they have no desire to be indoor lap cats, often edging being on fully feral cats. For those particular cats, we are looking for barn homes where they will still receive daily food, water and shelter but are allowed to come and go as they like; helping with pest control is a plus!Tomahawk socially is well adjusted to being near humans, but was one of the top men of the house and neighborhood and likes to mark his territory, making him hard to place as an indoor cat. He has a more aloof personality in general, but will allow some head petting and once he gets to know his people and area, he enjoys being around observing. Often barn cats prefer to be adopted out in pairs, but we feel Tomahawk would be quite content being the only cat after living a life of having to fight for every resource in his past. Barn cat adoptions are $20. They have all received their FVRCP vaccine, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, flea/ear mite treated, FELV/FIV negative and microchipped. He finds shelter life very overwhelming but also intriguing; meaning, he is always tucked back in a corner away from everyone but you always see his little eyes watching! He does not mind one or two head scratches and a couple treats to nibble on. Other then that though, he does not seek out human affection, and that`s ok! Cane does enjoy hanging out with other cats, so he will need adopted with one of his barn cat friends - check out Albert, Billy or Mercer! Barn cat adoptions are $20. I am from a large scale investigation/seizure where over 100 animals were taken from one home. I will need a patient family that will allow me to figure out this new life at my own pace. Since I am used to living with so many other furry friends around me, another feline companion may help me come out of my shell quicker.
