Story
Flora and Viola are bonded and must be adopted together. These two sisters both arrived pregnant and helped each other through their labor. While in their foster home, they raised their kittens together and continued to form a very special bond. They spend 95% of their time together and it is beyond heartwarming. These are two very sweet cats. Viola, the orange one, is the more free spirit of the two and likes to explore around while Flora has a more laid back personality. We are proud of these two for working together to raise a lot of active kittens and we think their best reward is a home of their own where they can be spoiled and loved.

Story
Norry was just returned to the shelter at no fault of her own. She was adopted from ARC as akitten and brought back when the owner had to move and couldn't take her with them. Norrycame from a colony of feral cats and was in very bad shape as a kitten. Now that Norry is anadult she is big, healthy and has beautiful long fur! We couldn't even tell as a kitten that Norrywas going to be a long haired cat but she has grown into such a lovely, luxurious girl! Norry canbe a bit shy but once she warms up she loves to be held and be a purry lap cat.Norry is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots and tested negative for felv and fiv. Toadopt, please go to our website nokillarc.org and fill out our adoption preapproval form locatedat the bottom of the "adoptable cats" tab. Story
This girl BREAKS OUR HEART... It is so obvious that she has hit rock bottom in life. We are going to try our best to make sure that she doesn't stay there and that rock bottom is not the end of her story but this one will take an exceptional amount of effort because there is a lot of healing to be done here. Sweet Pea was rescued from an abandoned house in May of 2024. She had lived in this house for most of her life as an indoor pet with a family and she is estimated to be about 5 years old. For reasons unknown to us, the family moved out and she was left behind in the house along with lots of other cats and kittens. There was nothing that Sweet Pea or any of the other animals did wrong that caused them to be left behind... much like children, they had no choice in the matter. She was the last cat rescued from inside the house because she was hiding. Sweet Pea most likely already had a timid personality to begin with, although we didn't know her before now so we can't say for sure. When we entered her life, she was hiding inside of ripped up old mattresses and we weren't even sure if she was still in the house because a window had been left open. Since we had been told that she existed and might still be present in the house, we set traps to make sure that we got everyone. Sweet Pea appeared to be quite hungry and was easily trapped with some wet food! With that said, we'd like to clarify that Sweet Pea is absolutely NOT wild, feral, or unfriendly! We trapped her because she was hiding and we wanted her to be able to come out on her own choosing. Sweet Pea has shown NO aggression whatsoever to people or other animals! She is simply terrified and under a ton of stress. Sweet Pea will allow people to pet her, pick her up, and even hold her and she doesn't put up a fight at all! We are normally a "cage-free" rescue once animals are vetted but Sweet Pea seems to prefer a small space where she can feel hidden and safe so she has been staying in a small kennel. We have noticed that Sweet Pea will urinate when she is moved into a carrier or out of her kennel area that she is currently staying in--that is how traumatized she is. We don't believe that this will be a permanent behavior but think that it is most likely related to a very high level of stress and that she DOES use a litter box! (Nothing was noted to be abnormal health-wise when she was just to the vet.) We don't know Sweet Pea's full background, as is the case with most of our animals, but we can say that anything could have happened in her past life. It is possible that she has experienced some trauma of some kind that has caused her to have great fear that will need to be gradually overcome, or it is possible that just the abandonment that she experienced was enough to impact her negatively and her coping mechanisms aren't as good as the the rest of the animals that came from the same house. (Just like with people or children from a family that experience the same difficult situations, some are more resilient than others for whatever reason and may handle life differently afterwards.) So what will Sweet Pea's future look like? We need it to be STABLE! We need it to be CALM. We need it to be COMMITTED. Sweet Pea is fine with other cats and kittens and would probably be OK with a CALM dog that knows it's place and leaves her alone. Absolutely NO excitable young children or dogs for this girl because she needs to feel safe! The quieter and calmer the home, the better. An experienced adopter would be preferable but not necessarily required IF the adopter was patient, calm, and willing to permanently commit to a cat with these types of needs. We are strong believers in healing and know that this girl can and will have the home that she deserves! It is very possible that she will not always be this way but of course we can't really say for sure because these things can be very hard to predict. Sweet Pea NEEDS and DESERVES an adopter that WILL NOT GIVE UP ON HER! Until that person steps forward, we will be that for her but obviously the best thing for this girl would be for her to get right into a home ASAP so she could finally adjust for the last time and begin the healing process for good. We know the person who adopts this cat is going to be a special, unique, and amazing person. We know that there are people out there that could probably work wonders with her and we will do the best that we can with her in the meantime. Sweet Pea has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped! She has a beautiful calico coat that looks like a patchwork quilt! SHE IS READY TO GO NOW!!!!!! Interested adopters can submit an application by contacting HobosHome2020@yahoo.com or by sending us a message and we will send you the necessary form!

Story
We don't know much about Gramps' past but we can tell that he is an old soul who led a long, rough lifestyle before coming to us! Although we don't know his age for sure, Gramps is most likely a senior cat. He is missing most of his teeth and tends to be a submissive, gentle soul who just wants to relax and enjoy his golden years! Sadly, Gramps was injured and missing lots of hair on his face when we first met him but the hair is growing back now and we think it was probably due to having to defend himself against other unfixed male cats when he used to live outdoors. (Life for unfixed outdoor male cats is very difficult!) Gramps really enjoys love from people as well as wet food! He has a hearty appetite! Since coming to us, Gramps has been very good with other cats while here in our care... he doesn't seem to mind new cats but would probably also be fine as an only cat. He adjusted very well to an indoor life after most likely living his entire previous life outside. He tends to enjoy just chilling and relaxing! He is a very calm cat! Gramps has not yet been dog-tested but we absolutely can dog test him if it makes a difference for you! Just ask! Let's find this old man the perfect home to spend his senior years in! He deserves for his golden years to be as golden as his coat! Gramps has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped! He is ready for adoption NOW!!! Interested adopters can submit an application by contacting HobosHome2020@yahoo.com or by sending us a message and we will send you the necessary form!

Story
Emotion was rescued from under a trailer in Tioga County, PA and he was one of the last kittens to be caught because he was a bit skittish! Emotion is an ADORABLE little boy with a medium marble and white coat and HUGE eyes!!! He can be shy at first but with a calm and gentle hand, he comes out of his shell relatively quickly. Emotion is one of our current favorites if the truth be known! This kitten would do best in a home with another confident cat or kitten as a companion! He would also like to go to a home where he can eat plenty of canned cat food because he tends to be very food motivated and this brings him out of his shell! (He will even become very vocal over it!!! It's very cute and comical!) Emotion will need a patient and calm adopter who is dedicated to helping bring out the best in him and who will be focused on helping him feel safe and at home as a house pet! Emotion has come a long way in a very short period of time while in our care but will need to have continued socialization with people. NO YOUNG CHILDREN for this kitten as he would do best in a quiet and calm home--no more chaos for this sweet boy! An experienced adopter would probably be best but not necessarily required. Emotion does great with other cats and kittens and we are REQUIRING that he goes to a home with another cat or kitten companion to keep him company, help bring him out of his shell, and help him feel comfortable! Perhaps you would like to adopt 2 kittens?! (Ask about our 2 for the price of 1 deal!) Emotion will be introduced to a large, cat-friendly dog while in our care but again, only CALM dogs who know their place would be appropriate in a home with him. Emotion will have been neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, FIV/FeLV/HW tested negative, and microchipped at his time of adoption! He is expected to be ready for adoption on July 9th! Interested adopters can submit an application by contacting HobosHome2020@yahoo.com or by sending us a message and we will send you the necessary form!
