Story
Sweet Paige is currently my most independent, non-needy, behaved foster. She is absolutely precious! She doesn’t demand or fight for attention, she just calmly waits until she can ease into place beside me. She will then purr loudly while I pet her, make biscuits, curl up and go to sleep. Paige makes biscuits unlike many other cats - she gets her legs in on the action and almost marches while making hers. It’s a little bit comical but I don’t laugh at her because she’s a quiet girl and more timid than some of her foster siblings. She’s not timid when she plays though - she plays with passion and can tackle her foster brothers like a linebacker.  Paige was found on a tarp at about 4-5 weeks old - the tarp was torn and somehow one of her front legs had gotten caught. Apparently, in her efforts to get free from the tarp, she got it wrapped around her upper leg so tightly that she had a pretty bad open wound and her circulation was compromised. No one is really sure how it happened, we can only make guesses based on her condition when she was brought in to the vets office. The people who brought her in did not want her and thought the vet could just euthanize her to end her suffering. Thankfully, the vet saw some spark in this little girls eyes that said “I’m just getting started in this world and I’m a fighter”. So the vet and staff got to work - they got her free from all the tarp she’d got herself tangled in, got her wound cleaned up and treated, put her on some iv antibiotics and hopes for the best. After she made it through the first 24 hours, they kept the wound clean, kept the antibiotics going, encouraged her to eat and showered her with love. I was able to bring her home to foster a couple of weeks later. She loved the vet that decided to try and save her but she was still timid and cautious of other humans. It took Paige a few weeks before she was comfortable with me and then another couple of weeks to decide that instigating contact brought lots of joy and comfort to her. I am extremely grateful to the awesome vet who decided in a matter of seconds, that that sickly, wounded, mad, tiny ball of fur was worth trying to save. All little Paige needed was a chance!  Paige has never been around children or dogs. She has come so far in her journey and I feel like she can adjust to any situation with love and patience. However, I think it would be best for her to be in a quieter, calm environment to begin with. Loud, excited, busy homes are not going to be ideal for Paige. I thinks she could adjust to any dog that is typically laid back and doesn’t bark a lot. The main factor in any new home is always the patience, love and understanding of the human in charge.  You can submit an adoption application for Paige at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Paige. ##1559119##

Story
Pippin is a hoot and a half! Not only is he a gorgeous little guy, he is incredibly entertaining. He spent the first few of months of his life at the vets office, so he was used to a small, confined space most of the time. When he came to his foster home at about 4 months, he was very overwhelmed and terrified of everything. He acted exactly like a feral kitten for 24-36 hours before his need for love was just too much for him to resist. He hissed and growled for a few days while being loved on and/or rubbing all over us - which was pretty funny. He decided having lots of room to run and play, not to mention having other foster siblings to play and snuggle with, was The. Best. Ever.  He earned his name (Pippin Took - Lord of the Rings trilogy) within the first few days - he was so clumsy and accident prone! He ran through the water bowls, turned over the food bowls when running through them, miscalculated distance and height, face planted into and off of everything…he was on a mission to make up for those first few months being confined and he was unstoppable! I’m happy to report that he is not as clumsy as he was at first, but his name is still very fitting.  Pippin loves cuddling and is pretty demanding when he wants love. He is crazy playful, with high energy just like you’d expect in a kitten his age. Pippin has not been around children and was only exposed to dogs through confinement while at the vet. He is super social however and has a perfect temperament- I feel completely sure that he can adjust to any family situation.  You can submit an adoption application for Pippin at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Pippin. ##1751527##

Story
This boy is a treasure. Charlie is so sweet and loving. Mix in a big dose of mischief, a huge helping of play and you have the perfect cat. He loves romping around with his foster brothers and sisters, cuddling with you while you sit or sleep and he is super dedicated to all things edible. He loves, loves, loves to eat! Speaking of that - Charlie is a CHONK!  He has no clue that he is a big boy though. His struggles with spatial awareness are very real - he is constantly rolling himself off of surfaces - much to his shock. :) He is so entertaining!  Charlie has never been around children, nor dogs. With his outgoing personality, he would most likely be fine with both. You can submit an adoption application for Charlie at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Story
Romeo-Walker needs a permanent home! He was found and dropped off at the vet’s office with a broken leg and fractured pelvis. His leg may have to be amputated but, in spite of all he has been through, this little Romeo is only concerned about being loved on! He is so incredibly loving and sweet. In addition to the broken leg, fractured pelvis and wound on his tail, he came in extremely thin and malnourished, dirty and no indication of having been cared for in his short lifetime. However, the attention, love and tender care he received by the staff at the vet’s office worked wonders on his young heart and turned him into a little Romeo. His surname is in honor of one of his hero's that lavished him with love. We have no history on this adorable, purring Romeo but we can tell you he is not afraid of the dogs he’s been around! He tried really hard to snuggle up and love on one of the dogs he has met while hanging at the vet clinic. The vet thinks he is probably anywhere from 8-10 months old. He is being neutered, given needed vaccinations and should be ready for his new home in a few days - pending the decision on whether the leg needs to be amputated. Romeo just needs a family to love him, especially while he heals. Please share him so he can find a home for Christmas!! You can submit an adoption application for Romeo at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Romeo. ##1885988##

Story
Cheddar is a big, thick slice of love! He crazy sweet and loving - he’ll demand pets if you aren’t freely providing them. He plays with the younger fosters like there is no tomorrow. Cheddar patiently stalks inanimate objects, practices religiously for the zoomie olympics, takes naps very seriously, plays in the water bowls daily and thinks playing “tub toys” with his foster siblings is epic fun. He loves playing chase with his foster brother Charlie, sneaking up and pouncing on his foster sister Paige, trying to beat his foster brother Pippin in racing for the highest spots available and causing chaos or making mischief with Hodges and the triplets. It’s a secret, but Cheddar is one of my favorite foster kittens ever! Cheddar has never been around dogs or children, but with his very calm, laid back personality I feel like he’d be fine if introduced properly. He was born in April of 2023. You can submit an adoption application for Cheddar at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Cheddar. ##1751542##

Story
Dip! One of the “evasive maneuvers” triplets. Dip is the only shorthair triplet (they are all beautiful), but he wins the gold medal for being the most likely to snuggle when he is exhausted from the chaos. He has the most adorable cheeks - they are so defined that he almost appears to have dimples! Dip, like his brothers, Duck and Dive, is one hundred ninety-nine percent kitten - wide open playing, endless mischief making, zoomies - no matter the hour, ridiculous curiosity, stealing objects that are not even deemed toy-worthy in the eyes of most humans and, most importantly, providing the best entertainment ever! Dip, Duck and Dive were born, in July, 2023, to a feral mom - they were pretty evasive when it came to catching them. All three were extremely unhappy about being apprehended and were not shy about sharing their ungrateful attitude while waiting at our vet’s office, where they were dropped off for their combo testing, for me to pick them up. They lost all of their ungrateful disdain of being catnapped almost immediately upon arrival at my house. When the human puts you in a room with a cushy, soft bed, gives you wet food and there are toys to be played with, you kinda forget to be mad! When they came to me to foster they were only about 8 weeks old and I could not tell them apart at all. After about a week of them being with me, I could tell some subtle differences in their fur length and, at that point, the extremely faint coloration on their tails, ears and faces that was emerging. Dip has never been around children or dogs but I have no doubt he will be fine with either as long as introductions are handled properly and patiently.  You can submit an adoption application for Dip at http://www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Dip. ##1890212##
