Story
This CAT is a member of our Permanent Foster program, and is happily living in a foster home willing to care for him/her.  If you would like to help with the cost of care for cats in this program, please consider becoming a 'godpurrent.'  For as little as $25 per month, you can help provide veterinary care and food for a special needs cat. Donations can be made by regular mail or online using Paypal.  https://www.fandfnm.org/become-a-godpurrent.html For more information, please send an e-mail to felinesandfriendsnm@yahoo.com HISTORY:  MS. JUNIOR previously served as the office cat at a NM military facility until pets were no longer permitted at the office.           TEMPERAMENT: MS. JUNIOR is a sweet senior kitty with a bad back. She came to F&F as a semi-feral who allowed limited touch. She has since blossomed into a friendly, outgoing girl who truly loves human attention. She is especially fond of head rubs. However, MS. JUNIOR finds it painful to be picked up and isn't shy about letting you know. When looking into why, we learned that MS. JUNIOR suffers from osteoarthritis and advanced degenerative disc disease. This sweet senior kitty is hoping to find a quiet new home where her special needs can be well-cared for and she can feel safe and loved. AGE:  born approx. 2/18/2012     MICROCHIP #:  -8842 DATE OF STERILIZATION: spayed, date unknown       VAX RECORD:  FVRCP #1: 2/18/23; FVRCP expires: 2/18/26; Rabies expires: 2/8/25  FELV/FIV test: 2/18/23 neg  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Special Needs: MS. JUNIOR will likely need pain medication and on-going medical care for her back as she ages. Dental and 2 extractions at Rollin Paws 2/13/24. [Santa Fe Animal Svcs. Story
HISTORY: TWINKIE PIE came to F&F after a TNR when he was found to be FIV positive (see ADDITIONAL INFORMATION below).  TEMPERAMENT: TWINKIE PIE is currently recuperating in foster care. AGE:   born approx. 9/12/2022 MICROCHIP #:  -6282 DATE OF STERILIZATION: 3/12/24 VAX RECORD:  FVRCP #1: 3/12/24, FVRCP #2: 4/2/24; FVRCP expires: 4/2/25; Rabies expires: 3/12/25 FELV/FIV test:  3/12/24 FeLV+ 4/2 FIV+ and faint FIV+ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat is expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. If you would like more information on FIV, educational materials can be requested by emailing adoptions@fandfnm.org.  ADOPTION FEE: $100  If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application. Cat name(s) of interest can be included in your application. Completing an application is the best and fastest way to dialog with our team.
