Declawed, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is May-Belle but my friends call me Bella. I'm declawed and am on a diet. Since I've been at the Humane Society I've had some dental work done and am living with a foster family. I love to be patted, play with string and watch bird videos on YouTube. I also love cuddling with you when you're watching your shows. I snore a bit and have a scratchy voice that sounds like I'm complaining, but that's just me holding up my end of the conversation. While I still need a bit of help getting on the couch or bed, on the bright side, you won't have to worry about me jumping on your counters or table!Other cats and children make me nervous, but I have a big personality so you won't need anyone else. If you have a quiet home and are looking for close to 20 pounds of purring companionship, I'm the perfect choice to keep you warm this winter!

Story
Ricky was part of a cat colony in Gananoque when he was trapped and brought to GDHS for care during the summer. He lived outside all his life and was fed by members of the community.Ricky was feral when he arrived, which means he did not trust humans very much. Volunteers and staff helped Ricky with his socialization skills. It has been a long process but Ricky is finally ready for adoption!Ricky is very food motivated and loves being scratched on top of his head, base of his tail and his sides. When he is happy, he makes cute little "grunting"sounds. Ricky is still cautious of new people and new things and would do best in a quiet home with a predictable routine. Ricky does well with other cats but he is FIV+. Ricky has bonded closely with Kevin who is also FIV+, and we believe that the two would excel being adopted as a pair. Both Kevin and Ricky are FIV+. FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Owners of FIV+ cats should be aware that this Virus is only transmittable between cats through deep bite wounds and cannot be transmitted through friendly contact. FIV does have potential to reduce a cats immune system. However, healthy FIV+ cats in a controlled environment live a happy normal lives. If you feel Ricky and Kevin are the right fit for your home, please don't hesitate to complete an application online to begin the adoption process!

Story
Meet MaxMax used to be part of a cat colony nearby in Gananoque before being brought into our care. Since then he has taken his time to warm up to the luxuries of indoor life with the help of dedicated volunteers and staff and has now made himself comfortable. This handsome boy enjoys the simple things in life, good food, a comfy bed and being by his queens side. Majesty, another one of the cats in our care. Max and Majesty have formed a strong Bond, they can often be found lounging with and grooming one another so we feel that it would be a true fairytale to have them adopted together. Both Max and Majesty would benefit from having a quiet home where their personalities can continue to grow and shine. If you think Majesty and Max would be a great addition to your home, please fill out our adoption application found on our website.

Story
Meet Dinah.Dinah was brought in after being found behind a barn in poor condition. After some time and consistent work to bring her out of her shell, Dinah has turned into a beautiful butterfly. She is often found playing in the lobby and running around with the other cats. Her favorite thing is chasing after string toys and springs but is not choosy. She can be shy and would prefer a quiet home with other friendly, playful cats. You will notice that Dinah has some excessive tearing from both of her eyes however this is not of concern and we are hopeful that finding a home will help improve this. She is on a special diet that helps maintain the health of her bladder and a immune boosting supplement that she willingly eats in her wet food. If you are interested in meeting Dinah, please fill out an adoption application that can be found on our website.

Story
Meet patty.Patty was carelessly abandoned, left crammed in a small cat carrier at our door some time in the early hours of the morning. It was obvious that she had been some one's pet as Patty was friendly from the beginning, but scared and unsure as to what was happening. Patty now resides in our lobby and will confidently greet perspective new parents at the door for pets. She can also be found having her afternoon snooze in a sun beam on a cat tree. She is independent at times however playful and quirky when she wants to be. She is currently on a easy to digest, low calorie food to aid in weight loss and and prevent other potential health issues.Patty would love a home where she is queen of her castle but we feel she may also be fine with another older independent cat that will respect her space.
