Story
Meet this adorable bundle of joy named Clyde! Clyde was seen abandoned in the woods and immediately picked up. This sweet boy is very playful and loves to be loved on. He loves toys and is obsessed with water surprisingly! He is also used to other cats and dogs. Is litter box trained. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. Story
Meet Pistachio, she came to our rescue with a group of kitties last summer! History: The previous owner had a group of cats that lived mostly outdoors with access to a garage for shelter/food. However, their owner passed away and they couldn't stay on the property, so the family contacted us to help rehome them. The cats were not completely feral, as their owner who passed away was able to pet them. Pistachio: Pistachio is shy and takes her time approaching people. She has been in a foster home for the last year where she was slowly moved to indoors with access to a catio. She enjoys following her foster family around to watch what they are doing. Pistachio likes to "meow" back at the fosters when they talk to her. Once she warms up to you, she enjoys petting and you can pick her up when needed as long as you go slow. She would do well either as an indoor cat in a household where she has time to adjust to her owners, or she would be okay as a barn / porch cat. Additional information: If you have an outdoor area for them to live in, they will need confinement for 2 months to get used to you and their new home. We can provide a cat tower (similar to a large crate) for them to stay in during that time and then you can gradually start letting them out to explore their new homes. You will return the tower to us after two months. Alternatively, they could live initially on a screened in porch and then be let out of the porch after they acclimate to the area. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. Story
Meet Patch! History: This guy was dumped on an a dead end road in the woods. He was found with his brother in rough condition and starving. So, one of the Crossroads Veterinary clinic employee's trapped, refed, vaccinated, and neutered him. Patch: Patch is very shy and takes a while before he will allow people to get close enough to be touched. He has been in a foster home for the last year where he was slowly moved to indoors with access to a catio. He enjoys observing the foster family from afar. Patch likes to sit in a sunny window or sleep in a cat tower. Once he warms up to you, he enjoys to be pet, purrs super loud, and you can pick him up when needed as long as you go slow. He would do well either as an indoor cat in a household where he has time to gradually warm up to his owners, or he would be okay as a barn / porch cat. Story
He followed my son home. We took him in with hopes of finding a good, loving home for him. We think he is about 7 or 8 months old. He is good with a bit older kids. He is very playful and loves to chase the lazer! He would love a friend to wrestle with. My dogs tolerate him but he loves them. He loves to cuddle in the bed at night with us. We are at our max for allowed pets and so need to find a good home for him.
