Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Declawed, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Mercy, the youngest senior tuxie in the Northeast! She's playful, curious, and quite energetic for an 11-year-old cat. She likes to chase spring toys, foil balls, and toy mice, but nothing gets her running faster than her favorite crunchy treat tossed across the room. She also enjoys "killing" a good feather toy. She has a great appetite, eats wet food and kibble, and looks forward to her three meals a day. Mercy requires an understanding adopter with a strong knowledge of and respect for cat behavior and their unique body language. Because she was declawed and mishandled when she was young, she can get overstimulated more quickly than most cats. She needs someone who wants her despite being declawed, not because she's declawed. Her ideal home is a calm, quiet environment without children, where she is the only pet in the household for the rest of her life. Building a meaningful relationship with Mercy will take some time and understanding, but the reward is highly gratifying. Her foster mom has a great relationship with her because she listens to Mercy and lets her decide when she wants to be touched and when she needs to be left alone. She thrives on a consistent routine and uses the litter box perfectly. She will go to her forever home with all her things- litter box, carrier, cat bed, and her most prized possession- her brush. Her sweet side is heartwarming- she enjoys daily snuggle sessions with her foster mom. She is a great work companion and will sit beside you quietly, enjoying your company. She is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and current on vaccines. If you want to give Mercy the loving home she deserves, please fill out an application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.

Story
Mr. Spats (aka Spatz) is a shy, but oh-so handsome, good boy. You might not see a lot of him at first, but with the right treats and gentle attention, he will slowly emerge from his hiding spot. He will approach with caution until you earn his trust. He loves catnip, which is great enrichment for him. Luckily he likes to be brushed since grooming should be part of his daily routine. You might find what his foster family lovingly calls "Spatz balls" of hair around the house, which helps when trying to find his hiding spots. He would do best in a home with patient and present adults who are willing to work with Spatz until he feels comfortable. This sweet boy has had a rough couple of years and is ready to settle into his forever home. He does well with other cats. If you're interested in meeting Spatz, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.

Story
Scout is a petite, 9-month-old kitten who was rescued with several other cats, all of whom are boys. She is timid at an initial meeting, but once she warms up, she will happily greet you with her cute little “meow”. Scout is affectionate in her own way; she'll curl up next to you while you sleep, or come sit with you on the couch and hang out. She doesn’t love being picked up, but is slowly getting more comfortable with the concept. She loves Churu treats and a good meal (she is a hungry girl!). She is most comfortable with other cats and would love a home with feline friends or she can be adopted with one of the boys (Edgar, Boo Radley, Linton, Darcy) she already knows. She has spent the most time with her brother Truman. Scout is curious and playful- she likes exploring little hiding spots and she is learning how to play with toys. She's also playful with other young-spirited cats. Scout would be a lovely addition to a quiet, low-key family. If you're interested in meeting her, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

He likes to stand up and give head bunts and kisses. He would make a great companion for cats and humans alike! Boo likes to play with toys and is quite a love. Boo Radley can be adopted with one of his friends or into a home with another young cat. If you'd like to meet Boo Radley, please complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.

He loves chasing the laser light, shoe strings and peacock feathers. He also enjoys spending his day watching birds fly by the window. His hidden talent is pottying in the toilet! This happy boy ends his days following his foster Mom into bed and hunkering down for the night. PB came to QCC with his brother Pierre Louie but they don't have to be adopted together. Pierre Louie is a beautiful, 5-year-old, fluffy gentleman. He enjoys playtime with the red dot, but don't forget to follow it up with a delicious treat! He's calm and loving and he enjoys being in the same room with his foster family. When spoken to softly, he will show his belly and roll over numerous times. P-L is treat- and food-motivated which makes him easily trainable. He came to QCC with his brother Peanut Butter, but they don't need to be adopted together. Story
Murdock is about 4 years old and the sweetest cat! I've had him about 2.5 years, and love him dearly, but he unfortunately dislikes my other cat. He loves to cuddle and knead on your legs, he always wants some love. He's very friendly has has never showed any type of aggression. He loves looking at the birds outside and cat tv. He likely needs to be the only pet in the house, as he would chase around my parents dog and chase my other cat. He's truly adorable and an amazing cat. He's a very loving cat in need of a very loving home. He was up to date on his shots a little over a year ago, but definitely needs his boosters. He's never had any health issues besides some acne under his chin, but I switched to a metal food bowl and he's been good since then. He should be an indoor only cat, but he does like being outside on a tied down harness and leash (but he won't go for walks).

Story
Star is a beautiful 2 year old male. He is a bit reserved, but very gentle. He seems happy being around other felines, but does not necessarily need that. Star enjoys playtime and especially his toy mice, and will toss them out for us to return them, like a slow game of toss! Despite initial reservation, he really loves head and neck rubs, and will roll over to invite belly rubs. He is very affectionate once he feels comfortable. He is also an adventurer. We are pre-approving applicants. To schedule an appointment, first fill out our adoption application ( https://cb8f5fb7-0a87-40fa-8ea5-50c4da40acd3.filesusr.com/ugd/c8cb9f_8cd13866ecd54a42a2b424d2b2f8dc10.pdf ). This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.
