Story
Martha became a young mother, but still, at times, acts like a kitten herself, especially when there are toys to play with. Most of the time though she is quiet, calm and friendly. She was a little cautious when she first arrived but warmed up quickly. She is usually in the room where people are and seems to be enjoying attention more all the time. She is also good with finding a quiet spot and curling up for a nap on her own. Basically, she appears to be a solid, low maintenance gal. She knows to use the litter box (she is not a flinger), eats neatly and calmly, and has done all her scratching so far on her SmartyKat cardboard scratching box. She loves treats. She was introduced to one of the resident dogs, and she was not a fan. This could be due to the fact that she still has one of her kittens at her foster home and when she saw the kitten approaching the dog, went into Mom mode. I think Martha will settle into a new home quickly and whoever adopts her will be gaining a wonderful feline companion. Fill out an application for Martha at https://form.jotform.com/242514774446057

Story
Slade is a friendly boy of 9 months. He came into FCAR with his two brothers, both of whom have already found their furrever homes. This boy loves people and to be pet and held! He is a young boy with lots of love to give for sure!Slade came into FCAR with a noticeable overbite that required further attention and tooth extractions. He has done well with this and is ready to find his special human to take him to his furrever home, where he will want to be on a diet of wet cat food.We are pre-approving applicants. To schedule an appointment, first fill out our adoption application ( https://cb8f5fb7-0a87-40fa-8ea5-50c4da40acd3.filesusr.com/ugd/c8cb9f_8cd13866ecd54a42a2b424d2b2f8dc10.pdf ). This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.
