Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Meet Zorro, a charming 6-year-old brindle shepherd mix weighing 47 pounds, currently looking for his forever home. With his big, endearing head and ears, soft short coat, and striking brindle coloring, Zorro is a true standout. He's a well-mannered fellow, house and crate trained, and enjoys the company of anyone willing to offer pets and scratches. He's been acquainted with dogs ranging from 10 to 60 pounds and seems to ignore cats altogether. His interactions with other animals like horses, pigs, and chickens have gone well and he is not interested in them. Zorro's ideal home would be in a suburban or rural setting with a decent area where he can lounge and enjoy the outdoors. He'd thrive with a family that appreciates his moderate activity level-after a 20-30 minute walk, he's content to relax for a while. Zorro knows basic commands like sit, paw, come, and wait, especially when there's food involved. One of Zorro's most endearing traits is his playful personality, often demonstrated by the way he eagerly chases after toys, though he's not always keen on bringing them back. He's also a fan of car rides and enjoys the occasional outing. His foster caregiver believes he would thrive in a home without dominant dogs, preferably alongside a passive female companion. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as his head, Zorro might just be the perfect match for you. Story
Rainbow is looking for the love of a lifetime! We have her listed so that we can share her story and perhaps find someone that will understand her needs and have the patience to see her become a wonderful companion dog. There is always hope. I am her foster mom. She is timid and fearful and although she allows me to touch and pet her, she is a very special case. She is currently fostered outside in a large dog pen and has run of my backyard at night. I often have other foster dogs and cats/kittens so it is always a busy time for taking care of everyone. She loves her dog house and comes out sometimes when called. She was trapped on the property of a school in Homestead. We rescued her pups and then trapped her. She had serious mastitis and needed surgery. This was 2.5 years ago. We had a couple of trainers come to my house and work with her. She does not like the leash although she was able to run alongside a trainer on a bike ride. She loves cheese. She has never been fostered inside of a house, though we do think that would change her perception of life. We have just never found a foster that would accommodate her special personality and be able to spend the time that she needs. Rainbow has been around my dogs and she has never been assertive or aggressive. She does sometimes bark at the dog next door through the fence. Rainbow weighs about 60 lbs. She eats well and probably doesn't get enough exercise. She is probably about 6/7 years old. Rainbow is not your typical dog. We do still keep hope in our hearts that someone will come along that will devote time and care to her so she can be the dog that she was born to be. If you would rather have a dog that is already trusting and ready for adoption, we have others. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.
