Story
GSD/Husky/Lab/Catahoula mixFour year old Dexter W. is a mixture of Labrador, GSD, Husky and Catahoula. His former owner’s parents have recently taken him in and he is just too much dog for them. They describe him as “a fun, smart and energetic companion. He loves to be near us and is a loyal best friend who loves to play.”  They believe he would be best with a family with older children or a family of young adults because of his energy level.  He has never been around cats. Story
I was rescued roaming around downtown, but I would love an outdoorsy family to go on hikes and adventures with! I'm a big girl with a big heart. I'm very strong and love getting attention. While I love people, I would probably do best in a home without small children. Little humans are fun, but they're easy to knock over on accident. If you're looking for someone to have a big time with, send in your application asap! I'm ready to ride.   *Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.*   Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1312536##

Story
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.... Such a fitting name and song for the Gem. Shes a hugger just like her brother Ricky. Lucy was found in the streets of houston and was taken to a local shelter where she spend some weeks there before her foster mom found her! She is a loving and protective girl. I am super loving and love on my humans every chance I get. When i discovered toys i feel in love. Can't get enough of playtime. I'm still not potty trained or leashed trained but my foster mom is working on that and we are taking baby steps towards the goal. I also like to play with all my other puppy roommates. I am very loyal to my foster mom so when my forever family comes I will be the most loyal companion. I like to wear hats, and go on walks. I'm ready for my forever family, and to see what adventures await. Want to learn more about me? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
