Story
Piper turned two in Dec 23. We were told she’s a Dutch Shepherd, but she may be mixed. She’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and full of energy. She’s fully potty trained. She’s okay with cats and currently lives with a smaller dog, but she’s food protective, so they eat in separate rooms. She may do well with a calm, larger dog after slow introductions and proper boundaries, but we believe she’d thrive most in a home where she’s the only pet. She’s amazing with adults and older kids, though not the best fit for homes with small children. She’d love a big yard where she can run and play—she has so much energy and joy to share! We love her deeply, but our lease only allows one dog. We originally took her in temporarily for a sick friend, but her owner never returned. We’ve cared for her since, hoping to find the right home. It’s been tough, but we’re doing all we can to avoid the shelter. She deserves a happy, active home full of love, patience, and play.

While she's a bit stand offish with other dogs and prefers to keep her distance, she more than makes up for it with her devotion to her humans.  She's not a picky eater, enjoys her chew toys, and stays content with just the right mix of light exercise and quality cuddle time.
