Meet Herbie! Breed: Feist Mix DOB: 9/13/2025 Sex: Male (neutered) Weight: 20-25 lbs Currently up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations Things To Know about Herbie: • Rescued from Mississippi after a rough start in life — but don't let that fool you, this boy is proof that love and good food can work miracles• As a Feist mix — a breed bred for hunting — Herbie thrives with plenty of mental and physical stimulation and will do best with active owner(s) who can keep that smart brain and busy body engaged• Came into our rescue partner's care underweight and has since blossomed into a happy, healthy pup who gained 7 lbs in just 10 days• Super social and loves every person he's ever met — no strangers here!• A true shadow dog who just wants to be wherever the people and pets are• Will greet you with a whole lot of kisses and his front paws on your lap looking for ear scratches — classic Herbie• Loves wrestling with dog siblings, playing with toys, and a good game of tug — and absolutely lights up at the park, especially if there's water and a stick involved• Cuddly and sweet once he gets his wiggles out• Crate trained — goes into his crate on his own when needed, no fuss• Doing great with housetraining — consistent potty breaks are keeping him right on track• Making great progress on leash and takes verbal corrections well• Excellent recall• True to his hunting breed roots, Herbie is alert to sounds and movement and will bark — but is doing a great job keeping it to a minimum with redirection and verbal cues• Dog friendly — does great in a multi-dog home with a confident, playful pal who can match his enthusiasm; his excitement around other dogs is pure joy and all love• Would do best with a dog-savvy cat; due to his prey drive, not recommended for homes with small animals• Looking for a loving and committed forever home to provide him with the care and love he deserves Learn more and apply to adopt at TLCrescuePA.org/adopt Interested in fostering? A 2-year-old, 36-pound mix of Feist and Terrier, Lulu came to us from a hoarding situation. She’s a lovely dog with a sweet personality who, upon first meeting can be shy, but will warm up quickly. She loves being stroked and loved; in fact, she’s very affectionate. We think she’s grateful that we brought her into rescue with us. She’s been treated for heartworm and is ready to go home with you! How about it? Show her what a real home is like! (posted 12/29/25, ME) NO CATS, PLEASE. ' ' Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **May 27, 2026, 4:40 pm

Story
Ellie Ann! Ellie Ann, although some of her earlier paperwork has her listed as Ellie Lynn so I am not sure what she did so wrong to deserve 2 middle names, but she really prefers her friends just call her Ellie anyways. She is sort of build like a sausage....an adorable 13.2 lb sausage with a slightly too small head, slightly too big belly, slightly too short legs and slightly too cute ears. She is 3-4 years old and listed as a feist mix, although we would suspect there is a fair amount of chihuahua hidding somewhere in those glorious rolls. Ellie found herself in need of a new home when her owner felt they were getting too old to properly care for her. And while she is good in a crate with us we know she is definitely missing the sofa naps with a human. She is also good with other dogs, although would prefer lower key dogs to the playful rambunctious ones we currently have around. She is also housebroken, but we would expect any dog to have accidents as they get used to a new home and routine. While Ellie is noticeably confused about the changes in her life and may look at you with a little side eye, she is actually super sweet and craving companionship. To add insult to injury her "babies" (stuffies) she was supposed to come with were lost en route to us, so she requests a home with lots of stuffies for her to carry around and snuggle with. She even enjoys burrowing under blankets. 💉 Adoption fee includes vaccinations to date, up-to-date preventatives, spay, and microchip. She also has tested heartworm negative. 📋 Interested in adopting Ellie? Apply at: www.dogtownrescue.org. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. ⚠️ Please note: An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs. 📍 Dog Town Rescue | 1553 Bethlehem Pike, Hatfield, PA 19440🐾 PA Kennel License #12275

Story
ABOUT FENRIS Calling all spicy Chihuahua lovers, meet the sassiest little man around! Fenris is a 4-year-old Chihuahua with some very big feelings (and even bigger opinions). He came to HAP when his owner could no longer keep him, and let’s just say… he is not impressed with shelter life. Fenris is clearly accustomed to the finer things, his ideal day includes wearing a cozy sweater and being carried around like the king he knows he is. While he can be nervous when meeting new people, he’s excellent at communicating when he needs space (boundaries? we love to see it). With time, patience, and a steady supply of tasty snacks, he warms up and transforms into a full-on stage ten clinger. We’ve seen glimpses of Fenris’s loving and playful side, and he’s looking for an adopter who will give him the time, respect, and understanding he needs to truly shine! **Fenris thinks other dogs are dirty and weird, so he is looking to be your only pet, non-negotiable. He also thinks children are loud and annoying, so calm adults are preferred for this king! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Yoda 🐾 Yoda is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds, with a calm presence and an easygoing personality. He’s currently settling into foster life and taking his time to decompress, but he’s already showing what a steady, loyal companion he can be. Yoda is fully housebroken and keeps things simple—no special medical needs, no medications, and no dietary restrictions. He’s in good health and ready to transition smoothly into his forever home. He has a medium energy level and enjoys getting out for walks, though he’s still working on polishing his leash skills. Around the house, he’s more on the independent side for now, but he does like to quietly follow his person from room to room, keeping you in sight without being overly demanding. Yoda gets along well with other dogs and would be perfectly happy in a home with a small dog pack or as a solo companion. He handles stairs without issue, doesn’t mind being picked up, and settles nicely in his own dog bed at night. He would also do fine in a home without a yard as long as he gets regular walks. He’s a quiet guy overall, barking minimally, and seems to prefer a relaxed environment where he can continue to come out of his shell at his own pace. Yoda’s ideal home:
A patient adopter who will give him a little time to fully open up, someone who enjoys daily walks, and a calm household—optionally with other friendly dogs. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance companion who will quietly become your shadow, Yoda may be the perfect fit. 💛

Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Hilo (HE-low) Hilo is a 13-year-old, 27-lb Chihuahua/Beagle mix looking for a calm home to spend his golden years. Don’t let his age fool you — this little guy still loves life, especially walks, toys, treats, and car rides. Hilo is fully housebroken, walks nicely on leash, and is a classic couch-potato companion who enjoys relaxing nearby. He likes to stay close to his person and will happily follow you from room to room like a loyal shadow, but he’s not overly clingy and prefers lounging beside you rather than being a lap dog. One of Hilo’s cutest habits is getting excited for walks — he’ll actually try to grab his jacket out of your hand because he can’t wait to go outside. He does well with other dogs, has minimal barking, and would do best with older kids due to his age. Hilo would thrive in a home with someone who is retired or works from home, where he can enjoy companionship, daily walks, and plenty of cozy nap spots. Hilo came to rescue as an owner surrender and was a bit overweight at intake, but he’s been doing great in foster care. As a precaution, he eats kidney-support food and takes a few routine supplements to keep him feeling his best. (Nexguard Plus | 3 month supply: $123.79, Wellactin supplement | 120 capsules: $24.99) His favorite things include toys, food, treats, walks, and car rides. Loud noises and storms aren’t his favorite, but a warm spot near the fireplace and a comfy bed make everything better. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just wants to be near his people, Hilo may be the perfect match.
