Meet Tilly – Playful, Energetic, and Full of Joy High Energy | Dog-Friendly | Fenced Yard Required Tilly is a happy, playful girl who brings a fun, upbeat energy everywhere she goes. She's looking for a home that can match her enthusiasm for life — one with a secure fenced yard and an active family who’ll enjoy spending time with her. Tilly is dog-friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She would thrive best in a home with older kids who enjoy playing and running around with her and understand how to respect her space. She just needs a family who will give her the time and outlets she needs to thrive — and in return, she’ll be a loyal, loving companion. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate pup who’s ready to be your adventure buddy and cuddle partner once she’s had her playtime, Tilly is ready to meet you! Adoption donation is $395 cash, $420 credit, debit or Venmo. This donation includes a microchip. ***A NOTE ON BREEDS: The dog's listed breed(s) is the best assessment made by a veterinarian, pet finder or rescue staff and is not guaranteed. Story
Hello, my name is: MollyApprox. DOB: 05/08/2025Sex/Breed: Spayed female feist mixWeight: 15 lbsRescued from: Found strayMolly is a cute little mutt who was picked up as a stray and never reclaimed, and now she’s ready to steal hearts. With her adorable underbite, long legs, and confident personality, she knows how to make an impression!! She does well with other dogs and likes being in charge during playtime, so she’d be happiest with a dog that’s comfortable letting her take the lead. Molly has fun bursts of energy but also loves to settle in as a lap dog, especially when she can be front and center where she believes she belongs. With her charming looks and equally lovable personality, Molly is truly an awesome little dog!! Please help us find Molly the forever home she so desperately deserves! All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
A 2-year-old, 36-pound mix of Feist and Terrier, Lulu came to us from a hoarding situation. She's a lovely dog with a sweet personality who, upon first meeting can be shy, but will warm up quickly. She loves being stroked and loved; in fact, she's very affectionate. We think she's grateful that we brought her into rescue with us. She's been treated for heartworm and is ready to go home with you! How about it? Show her what a real home is like! (posted 12/29/25, ME) NO CATS, PLEASE. Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet Fenris Fenris is our almost four year old chihuahua mix that recently came to HAP when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Since he's spent his entire life in a loving home, he's struggled adjusting to the stress of shelter life. In typical chihuahua fashion, he's nervous when meeting new people but with some time, patience, and treats, he does warm up and turns into a little bundle of love. Fenris was under socialized growing up so he would do best as the only animal in the home. We've seen glimpses of Fenris's loving and playful personality but he's looking for an adopter that will give him the time and space to understand him and earn his trust. We'll continue to update Fenris as he settles in and we get to know him more! ***Fenris needs to be the only animal in the home and needs to be an adult only home.*** If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Meet Pluto 🐾 Please read the bio in full for answers to common questions. If you have a question not covered here, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Because all of our dogs live in foster homes, meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed application is received. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance of Wilmington, DE so our volunteers can conduct an in-person home visit. Pluto is a tiny but mighty super senior Chihuahua, estimated to be 14–16 years young and weighing in at just 10 pounds. This quiet little gentleman is the definition of low maintenance. He enjoys his independence, loves a cozy nap spot, and keeps life simple and calm. Pluto came to us as an owner surrender after his beloved human passed away. He spent nearly a year being shuffled among relatives before a caring family member reached out to give him the comfortable life he deserves. Since joining us, Pluto has received the medical care he needed, including a dental, neuter, and removal of his right eye due to a corneal rupture. He has been an independent little guy from the very beginning. Medically, Pluto has a high-grade heart murmur and arthritis, both of which are well-managed with monthly medications (Vetmedin approximately $75/month and gabapentin approximately $12/month). Because of his heart condition and advanced age, Pluto is considered a super senior whose remaining time may be shorter rather than longer — but he is currently stable and enjoying life at his own pace. Pluto is still polishing his housebreaking skills and does very well with pee pads and regular potty breaks every 4–6 hours. He does not do stairs and is not a leash walker (likely due to having had a less mobile owner in the past), and he absolutely despises car rides. The good news? He barely barks, is fine being handled, and is perfectly content lounging in his dog bed or quietly cruising around the house. He gets along with dogs, cats, and other animals, though he prefers to dine alone due to mild food guarding (he may growl if another dog approaches his bowl). Pluto would do best in a calm home, ideally with a senior or quiet household with older children or teens. He does not need a fenced yard and is perfectly fine being left in a room or large area when home alone. Pluto’s ideal person is someone who appreciates an independent, quirky little companion — a buddy who enjoys being near his people but still likes to do things on his own terms. If you are looking for a gentle, low-key friend to share quiet days and cozy nights, Pluto may just be your perfect match. 💙

Story
Meet Pinky Pie! She is a sweet 2-year-old Chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix) turning 3 in March. Pinky is extremely friendly, smart, and full of personality. She loves people, other dogs, and will happily follow you everywhere you go. She is cuddly, funny, and a little ball of energy, but also enjoys relaxing in the sun or under a heated blanket. She dislikes cold weather and rain, though she looks adorable in her puffer jacket. She knows sit, stay, wait, paw, and high five, and even understands sit in ASL. She enjoys puzzle toys, deer antlers, and was trained on ELMS dog food. Chicken causes extra shedding, so it is best avoided. She sheds more when anxious. Baths are not her favorite, but warm water and peanut butter help a lot. She will need updated shots this year. Pinky needs a loving, attentive home where she can be a loyal, happy best friend for life. She would do best in a warm, loving home that understands her sensitive, loyal nature. She bonds deeply with her person she is the best!!
