Story
Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 14, 2026, 10:14 am

Meet Mindi – Playful, Energetic, and Full of Joy High Energy | Dog-Friendly | Fenced Yard Required Mindy is a happy, playful girl who brings a fun, upbeat energy everywhere she goes. She's looking for a home that can match her enthusiasm for life — one with a secure fenced yard and an active family who’ll enjoy spending time with her. Mindy is dog-friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She would thrive best in a home with older kids who enjoy playing and running around with her and understand how to respect her space. She just needs a family who will give her the time and outlets she needs to thrive — and in return, she’ll be a loyal, loving companion. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate pup who’s ready to be your adventure buddy and cuddle partner once she’s had her playtime, Mindy is ready to meet you! Crate-trained: Yes PLEASE NOTE: To apply to adopt, the application and adoption process can be found on our website greenmorerescue.org. Please read dog's bio carefully before applying. Meet Kenna! Born on October 14, 2022, Kenna is a sweet, medium-energy girl who has so much love to give. When she first arrived, she was a little timid, but it did not take long for her true personality to shine. Once she feels comfortable, her adorable little nub tail wags so fast that it is impossible not to smile. Kenna walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys getting out for leisurely walks and spending time with her people. She does not need a fenced yard, making her a great fit for many different homes. Kenna seems to prefer the company of calmer, more laid-back dogs and would likely be happiest with a canine companion who shares her easygoing style. She would also do best with calm, respectful children who understand that she appreciates a gentle approach. If you are looking for a loving companion with a sweet personality and the cutest wagging nub tail around, Kenna is ready to find her forever home. Story
Sweet Pea is about 8 months old and is a very sweet little girl looking for her forever home. The couple that brought her in said they found her by the hotel where they were staying. She was so very sweet they didn't want anything to happen to her, so they turned her in. She loves her little bed. She is better with older kids rather than smaller ones. She has been fully vetted and is up to date on all shots, spayed and microchipped. She is all set to go home to her new family. Story
Oaklee ended up at our adoption due to no fault of her own. She was given to a couple after being abused and mistreated at her original home. This couple decided to surrender her because they already had 3 dogs. She did end up pregnant and gave birth to two puppies, one had passed at birth and the other was kept by family members. She will be spayed, which is already scheduled and up to date on vaccines before she goes home. She can be possessive over food so we are asking for a home with no young children. She does need patience when it comes to trusting new people. Once she trusts you, she just wants to snuggle and be your personal shadow.
