Story
Mills is a 2-year-old mixed breed dog who is looking for his new family. Mills gets along well with other dogs and loves any person he meets. He is a gentle boy who would love nothing more than to snuggle up next to his person and binge their favorite tv show. He walks well on leash and appears to be potty trained. Mills would make a great addition to any home.  All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet PD, a 10 year old Chihuahua. This little guy is fully potty trained! He has never had a single accident in his foster home. His favorite things are his people, his furry foster brother, belly scratches, being the boss of his household, and his twice a day treats (the only way he takes his medication). PD has been diagnosed with an enlarged heart and a heart murmur, requiring daily medication. Also has kidney concerns which are maintained on a prescription kidney-support diet. He would benefit from losing some weight (he's quite chunky) with light exercise. It will be beneficial for his overall health. PD does not like dogs bigger than he is. He also does not like when his foster brother is getting attention and he isn't, or when someone gets too close while he is on your lap (he can be a bit possessive with his people). This special guy needs a calm and loving home that does not have a lot of new people coming around. He can be very spicy towards new people as he is very protective of his family. His furever family must also be willing to continue caring for his medical needs. He's been the bestest boy in his foster home. PD's $300 adoption fee covers his neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, deworming medication, and microchip registration. Story
Meet sweet little Churro! He is a charming 1 year old chocolate Chihuahua. His current weight is about 10 pounds, but he is a bit chunky and could stand to loose a pound or two. He plays great with toys and other dogs his size.He is currently fostered with large dogs and does well with them also. He wants to be king of a lap and will tell the big dogs to go away. His is a great cuddler for relaxing on the sofa or in the recliner. He is still working on potty training but wears belly bands when needed in the house. He should do fine with cats as they are bigger than him, and he has been good with kids.  His adoption fee of $300 covers his neuter, vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, deworming medication, and microchip registration. Story
A gracious donor has covered half of Devon's adoption fee!  This stylish russet-haired beauty is Devon, we believe a Yorkie/Chihuahua mix, about 8 years old, and roughly 8 lbs. She came to us with a fist-sized inguinal hernia, which thankfully has been repaired. Imagine trying to walk with that when you're only three inches off the ground? She was recently returned because she wasn't easy to house train. As she origiinally come from a hoarder situation (and that huge hernia), she will need a lot of love and attention to learn how to properly go outside. She is the epitome of a velcro dog, and will want to be touching you at all times. Be prepared to bring her to Zoom meetings and snuggle with her in bed and on the couch. She loves humans and has done well with cats and dogs of all sizes. She is so happy to get attention and will wag her lush tail at all times. Her $150 adoption fee covers her spay, hernia repair, cherry-eye repair, dental, vaccines, deworming medication, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives and microchip registration.  If interested please apply at https://gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##2468034##
