A Cocker Spaniel at Home Fur Good? Now that’s a special treat! Meet Chai, a handsome 19-pound gentleman with a beautiful black coat and a sweet personality. The county shelter listed him as five years old, but we suspect he may be closer to eight. Whatever his exact age, this lovable boy has so much to offer!
Chai was so shut down and depressed at the Maricopa County shelter that he was at risk of being placed on the euthanasia list. He wasn’t defensive; he simply seemed to have lost his spark. Home Fur Good knew he deserved a chance, so we brought him into our care.
Chai arrived with matted fur and dental needs, so we made sure he received the care he needed. With a little comfort and kindness, he’s slowly coming out of his shell! He wags his adorable nub tail, paws at his kennel door when he wants attention, and leans into pets, sweetly asking for more when you stop. We’re delighted to see this affectionate boy rediscovering his spark!
Chai walks on a leash and has been a gentleman for our team to handle. Based on what we’ve seen so far, he may do well with children, cats, and other dogs, though individual introductions are important.
After so much uncertainty, Chai deserves a home where he can relax, enjoy affection, and feel safe. He doesn’t ask for much, just kindness, a cozy place to rest, and someone who will remind him every day that he matters. Could you be the person who helps this sweet boy flourish?
Chai’s adoption fee is $350, which includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
