Story
Hi everyone! My name is Hank and I am approximately 18 months old. When I got to NBRAN, I visited the vet and got all my vaccines and I was neutered. I am heartworm negative and I take my monthly heartworm preventatives like a good boy!  I am a very handsome male French Brittany, if I do say so myself. Actually, everyone that meets me says I am very handsome! At 30 lbs., I am a little guy.  I can be very shy, but I can also be very loving. One thing for sure, I don’t like you touching my feet!  Because, I had lived my life in a kennel with a concrete floor, I did not play or walk in the grass much.  That makes going to the potty on the grass confusing for me.  I was only allowed to relieve myself on the concrete.  I am very smart, but sometimes habits can be hard to break, and house training is not easy for me.  I would love a home with a housetrained doggie friend that would help me learn the ropes. Even though I have been “snipped,” female dogs still drive me to do things I shouldn’t sometimes. (my foster mom can elaborate).   I have never been around cats, but I don’t think I would like them very much! My foster family loves me but wants me to have a family of my very own.  I am still fixated with rolling in things that don’t smell so good, but my foster mom has worked with me, and I am getting lots better.  I need a home with a fenced backyard to run in, and a doggie door would help me with housetraining, although it is not a “must have.” I am a Houdini in my collar and harness and have been known to try to get out of them (successfully) and explore. Do you think you would like me to come be part of your family? If you have patience and a loving home where I can have a doggie sibling and fenced backyard, I would love to come live with you! My adoption fee is $400 to help offset the expenses associated with getting me ( and other fabulous rescued Brittanys) in great condition for a fabulous new home.  You don't have to live in Tennessee, NBRAN will transport me up to 1400 miles to my furever home. Please contact Suzanne Horsley ztasuzanne@gmail.com or Debbie Tuthill agilitybrits@gmail.com  to find out more about me! Story
Miss Bella is a lovely lady who is estimated to be between 10-12 years old weighing about 27lbs.  Even though Bella is a senior, she does need her daily walk.  She is currently walking 1-2 miles daily, after which she is content to sleep and relax the rest of the day.  She is a love sponge and will happily accept your pets and if you’re lucky some couch cuddles. She is good with other dogs in the home and would do well with a playmate, but she would also love to be the apple of your eye having your undivided attention during her golden years.   Bella is potty trained and has done well being left alone in the house with her dog sister. While she has good house manners overall, she is a bit of an opportunist and if there is unattended food on the table or counter, she will do a bit of counter surfing to go after it. Like most Brittanys, Bella enjoys looking at and stalking birds and squirrels and needs a home with a yard that is secured by a 6 ft fence to patrol and chase small critters. She is not a jumpy dog and loves meeting new people and gets very excited playing with her humans.  Bella is an absolute sweetheart who melts the hearts of everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a golden girl who will love you to the moon and back, look no further than this bundle of joy. Bella is spayed, current on her vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $200 ($150.00 for a senior).  If you are interested in making Bella a member of your family, and have the time, energy, and love to give her, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the online adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  For more information after completing an application, contact Patti at 801.641.4053.  Please realize all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first come, first serve basis.   August 17, 2026, 8:12 pm

Story
Hello future best friend! My name is Kung Pao (yep, just like the dish—spicy, memorable, and a little bit different!). I’m searching for my forever home, and I think you might be the perfect match! Let me tell you a little bit about my pawsome self. I was picked up as a stray in Gila County back in December, but don’t worry—I’ve bounced back and I’m ready for a new chapter. While I was at animal control, all the staff fell head-over-heels in love with me (not to brag, but I was basically the office favorite). I even went to stay with a family for a while, but I turned out to be a little too big for their tiny toddlers. Oops! If you’re hoping for a companion who’s not bouncing off the walls 24/7, I’m your guy—I’m not one of those high-octane pups who need endless exercise. I’m perfectly content with a few fun romps and some quality playtime, then I’m all about chilling out by your side. I definitely have my playful spurts, but you won’t catch me demanding a marathon every day! Now, I’m looking for a home with someone who appreciates my unique style and silly antics. I’m a very unusual mix—think husky (that’s where I get my dazzling blue eyes!), a splash of brittany spaniel (just look at my soft white-and-tan coat and fancy plume tail!), and maybe a bit of bully breed for my big blocky head and sturdy build. At about 1 ½ years old, I’m just the right age to bring adventure and fun to your life without any of that puppy nonsense. Here are some of my best features: Super sweet personality: I’m friendly, affectionate, and love to make new pals! Staff favorite: Seriously, everyone at Gila County animal control gave me five-paw reviews! Great with other dogs: I love to romp and play with canine buddies. Knows basic commands: Sit, stay, and “look adorable” are all in my repertoire. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped: I’m healthy and ready to roll—no surprises here! A few mysteries about me: No one knows where my name came from, but I can totally learn a new one if you pick something you like better! I haven’t met any cats yet, so the jury’s out on that. Maybe we’ll discover together? If you’re looking for a furry friend with a big heart, soulful eyes, and the fluffiest tail around, I just know we’ll make a great team. Want to meet me and see if we’re a match? Send an email to mike@caaronline.org and set up a playdate—we can’t wait to meet you! Wags and wiggles, Kung Pao   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
At just five years old, this beautiful 54-pound Coonhound mix has already experienced unimaginable cruelty. When she was examined, veterinarians discovered BBs still lodged in her abdomen, heartbreaking evidence that someone had shot this gentle soul. Yet if you met Starfish today, you would never know it. She greets every day with a wagging tail, bright eyes, and pure joy. She races across the yard in happy zoomies, leans in for affection, and loves people with a trust that feels almost miraculous. Somehow, despite everything she has been through, Starfish still believes the world is full of good. When her time at the Maricopa County shelter ran out, Home Fur Good rescued her on her euthanasia deadline day. She finally had a chance to begin writing a new chapter. While at Maricopa County, Starfish spent time in a foster home, where she had an altercation with a small dog. The shelter staff believed there was a rushed introduction in a busy, overstimulating environment. Starfish has met several larger dogs and has been playful, social, and sweet with them. Because of her history, she would do best in a home without small dogs. What Starfish truly deserves is something she's never consistently had: safety, kindness, and a family who will never let her wonder if she's loved. We can't erase her past, but together we can give her the future she's been waiting for. If you're looking for a loyal companion with an incredible capacity to forgive, to love, and to fill your home with happiness, Starfish is waiting to meet you. Starfish's $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. To schedule a meet-and-greet, call Home Fur Good at 602-971-1334. Walk-ins are also welcome Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
