If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Dale, a handsome Chow X who was rescued from a shelter where I was found as a stray. I'm grateful to be given a chance to find my forever home. Although my shelter stay wasn't the best experience, I've been doing great at CARL's kennel facility.I'm good with other dogs and enjoy playgroup time at the kennel, but for unknown reasons there have been a some dogs I didn't care for, maybe they were just sending me the wrong vibes. If you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. It's unknown at this time if I get along with other cats. I would probably not do well in a home with young children due to their unpredictability. Older children who know how to behave around a dog and are more predictable would probably be fine. A CARL volunteer said I needed a little time to warm up to new people when I first came to CARL, but now I'm more social. I'm sure it had to do with having been picked up as a stray and then being taken to a shelter where I didn't know what fate awaited me. The volunteer said I'm leash trained and nice looking too.I can't wait to find my forever home and be someone's loyal companion. I've come a long way—from being a fearful, under-socialized puppy to becoming a loving, curious girl who's eager to learn and please. Thanks to the patience and guidance of my foster mom, I've gained confidence and started to come out of my shell. While I'm still a little reserved around new people, I warm up with time and consistency—and once I do, I'll be your playful shadow, chasing lizards, tossing toys, and cuddling right by your side.I would do best in a home as the only dog. I don't do well with females, and I'm selective with males—I tend to get along best with calm, confident (alpha) males, and even then, I'd need a proper meet and greet to make sure we're a good fit. I've worked hard to find my balance, and I'd love a home where I can continue to grow with a strong, steady human who can provide structure, guidance, and lots of love.I'm crate-trained, potty-trained, and making great progress on leash walks with a gentle leader.
