Say hello, and he’s already leaning into your hand for pets, like you’re old friends.Quick Facts: Breed: Mix · Sex: Male · Born: November 2025 · Weight: 11.6 kg · Location: Korea · Traits: Affectionate, sociable, moderate energy · Health: Neutered, vaccinatedBackground: Pippi was rescued this summer from a dog meat farm in Icheon, Korea. Since then he has been living with other dogs at our partner boarding house, where he has settled in well and is now ready to find his forever family.Personality: Pippi is an affectionate boy who loves being around people and never holds back showing it. He has no shyness around new faces, men, women, or children, he just wants to be close to whoever is nearby. His energy runs at a comfortable, moderate pace, up for a good walk or a play session, but just as happy to settle in beside you afterward. He has no unusual barking habits.Compatibility: Pippi treats everyone the same. Men, women, children, it makes no difference to him, he warms up quickly.Pippi generally gets along well with other dogs, especially calm, well-mannered ones he can relax around. He’s less patient with dogs that get loud or hyper in his space. Because of this, he would do best as the only dog in the home, or paired with a dog who is friendly, well mannered and not dominant.Pippi hasn’t lived with cats before, so we can’t say for certain how he’d do.Behaviours & Training: Pippi rides well in the car, behaves well at the vet, and does well at bath time. He’s still learning polished leash manners on walks, but he’s coming along nicely. He has no chewing habits to worry about. As a young dog, he hasn’t yet had many chances to prove himself on separation anxiety, but he has shown no signs of it so far.Health & Diet: Pippi is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He takes a monthly parasite preventative. He has had no surgeries beyond his neuter. He has no known allergies and eats dry food twice a day.Ideal Home: Pippi would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, so he isn’t left alone for long stretches and has company throughout the day. As a young dog still new to the world, he’ll thrive with a patient adopter who can guide him gently through new experiences as he grows. An only-dog household suits him best, though a calm, dignified resident dog could also work well.Pippi is a boy who wears his heart on his sleeve, always ready to lean in for a pet and make a new friend. Whoever adopts him will be getting a dog who greets every day, and every person in it, with open affection.

Since then he has been living with other dogs at our partner shelter, where he has settled in well and is now ready to find his forever family.PersonalityPhoongyi is affectionate and clearly loves being around people. He greets everyone the same way, whether they are men or women, with no hesitation and plenty of affection. He carries a calm, steady energy day to day, and while he enjoys playtime and walks, he is just as happy settling in beside you. He doesn’t bark much and has no unusual barking habits.CompatibilityPhoongyi is comfortable and confident with both men and women, and he shows no signs of being shy around new people. He hasn’t lived with cats before, so we can’t say for certain how he’d do. Knowing his easygoing nature, though, we think it’s possible with a slow, gradual introduction, plenty of patience, and enough space for each of them to have their own retreat while they get used to one another.Phoongyi gets along well with other dogs, especially calm dogs closer to his own age. He can feel a little overwhelmed if too many dogs crowd around him at once, so he’ll do best with introductions that give him room to settle in at his own pace.Behaviours & TrainingPhoongyi does well in the car, at the vet, and at bath time. He enjoys his walks and already has good leash habits. He prefers going potty outdoors rather than using a pad, and he hasn’t shown any tendency to chew on things he shouldn’t. As a young dog, he hasn’t yet had much chance to prove himself on separation anxiety, but he has shown no signs of it so far.Health & DietPhoongyi is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations as of August 2026. He takes monthly parasite preventatives. He has no known allergies and no history of additional surgeries or treatments. He has passed the veterinary screening and is healthy and ready for a forever home.He eats kibble twice a day and has not shown any food allergies or sensitivities so far.Ideal HomePhoongyi would do well in most homes thanks to his calm, gentle temperament. He’ll be happiest with a family who works from home or is retired and enjoys spending plenty of time with their dog, since that gives him the company and steady guidance he needs as a young dog still finding his footing in the world.Having another calm, gentle dog in the home would be a wonderful bonus, since that’s the kind of friend Phoongyi gravitates toward most. Still young and already this steady, Phoongyi just needs a family willing to give him the time, patience, and love to grow into the companion he’s clearly going to be. Whoever adopts him will be getting a wonderful boy.

Story
*Note: Currently, Arthur is in Korea but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about him or about the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundArthur was found as a stray in a rural area of Paju, Korea, and was facing euthanasia before being rescued and brought to a shelter. He currently lives with other dogs at the shelter while waiting for his forever home.Personality and SocializationArthur is a gentle and friendly dog. He approaches new people without much hesitation and is comfortable being handled. He enjoys physical affection and will gently paw at you if he feels he is not getting enough attention.Around other dogs, Arthur does well and has been good with the dogs at the shelter. He enjoys the company of dogs who are friendly and respectful of his boundaries. If another dog is too hyper, pushy, or constantly in his face, he may growl to communicate discomfort, but he has never caused trouble or started fights. Arthur would do best with calm and well mannered dogs rather than young, overly energetic, or dominant dogs. He has no experiences with cats. BehavioursArthur does well on walks when the environment is calm. However, he can become nervous around busy roads or large crowds. He rides well in the car without any fuss. Vet visits and bathing go smoothly because he trusts people and follows their lead without resistance. He is comfortable staying in his kennel and keeps his space clean. If someone tries to grab him suddenly or handle him too roughly, he can become scared.Health and DietArthur is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on his vaccinations. He also receives monthly parasite prevention. In the summer of 2025, Arthur underwent surgery for gastric volvulus. He has fully recovered and is healthy. He does not require any medication or special diet, but it is recommended to avoid vigorous exercise right after meals. He eats standard dry kibble with no known food sensitivities and happily accepts treats.Ideal HomeArthus would be happiest with a family living a peaceful and quiet life in a residential suburban area rather than in a busy downtown city. He would do best with someone who enjoys a calm and relaxed lifestyle, can spend time with their dog, and enjoys daily walks together. Arthus does not ask for much. He is a gentle soul who will simply be happy being near his people and sharing a quiet life with them.*Note: Currently, Arthur is in Korea but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about him or about the adoption application, please click here.
