Story
*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Bella! Bella needs a loving new home following the death of her owner. She is approximately 10 years old, and her breed is Eurasier (Spitz). Bella had her annual check-up in January, is up-to-date on her vaccinations, and is in good health. She is already spayed. The niece of Bella's owner has been taking care of her and shared the following information: "Bella is a sweet girl who likes a lot of attention and love. She would do best in a home with retired people or someone that is home often. She does well with other animals, but she thrives on her own, too. She doesn't need a lot to be happy, although a yard would be preferential as she has always had one up until now. Bella previously lived with two male Siamese cats, and they got along great. She now lives with one small female, Shih Tzu. They also get along very well. Her best friend is a male French Bulldog that lives down the street. She has been around big dogs at the dog park, but she tends to shy away from them. She seems to prefer smaller animals. Bella is still energetic and loves going for walks where she can explore different scents. She gets the zoomies around the house after eating or sometimes spontaneously. She loves to play with squeaky toys, too. Bella loves everyone! She is very gentle, but she does not like her tail to be pulled by small children, and she will make contact with an open mouth on their hand or arm, but not closed down as to bite. She will growl if you accidentally put your foot on her tail also. For this reason, Bella would do best in a home without small children. Bella likes to lay down right where your feet go underneath the couch and she likes to sleep under the bed, a desk, or anywhere, where she feels like she can hide. She will go into the crate after some incentivizing with treats. Bella will bark or whine or come and look at you and make a noise if she wants to go outside. She will hold it in for as long as possible and prefers grass or dirt patches to potty in." Story
We adopted our Olaf 3 years ago from a high kill shelter while living in Korea at 6 weeks old and he has been with us ever since. We brought him back to California with us in June this year. Despite our best efforts to socialize him and expose him to as much as possible, at around 6 months old he started to show some pretty serious anxiety which seems to have worsened over time. He is extremely fearful of our 1.5 year old daughter and has developed reactivity to her which we have not been able to correct with training or medication. He has broken her skin on one occasion. Olaf would be better suited to a home with teenagers ( he seems to love them) or no children at all, and no other pets. He is very well trained, and knows all the basic commands. He rarely barks, walks well on a leash, and mostly ignores passing dogs unless he is approached by them. He plays well with some dogs, but is very selective and resource guards his toys (from dogs, NOT people).
