Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! This handsome fella is Salem! Found abandoned on Halloween night, Salem is believed to be under a year old, and he is full of puppy energy! He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and weighed in at 64 lbs. It was discovered that this special boy was born with a hemivertebrae, making him a natural hunchback. However, this does not slow him down one bit! This does cause him to have wonky back legs when he gets excited. Due to this, it’s recommended that he be in a home without small dogs, small children, or cats since he could accidentally fall on them if he gets too excited. Salem knows basic commands, is great in the house, and has gotten along well with every person and dog he has met! He is definitely a velcro dog and is looking forward to spending every moment with his forever family. We are accepting applications now for this sweet boy! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
